Carrying on...

A million emotions were flowing around my body as Barnaby slowly opened the doors. My dress was such a lovely pale blush and a beautifully fitting top to it, hugging my body but flaring out by my feet. My hazel hair was up in curls, a tiara sitting below a perfectly crafted bun.
I knew nobody there so I may as well go meet some people. After a while I... well got exhausted and went to a balcony for some fresh air. It didn't go to plan. I went outside and stared at the star's for what seemed like a lifetime, until, I felt someone's presence behind me. I turned slowly, being careful that my dress stayed perfectly shaped.
"Hello?" I whispered
"Ah, so your... Kat?" A low voice hushed, his voice was like a lullaby, soothing my soul.
"I... am. And who might you be, I ask?" I mimic his old fashioned tone.
"Prince Thomas Bilonger. Your fiancé." He replies, a smug look on his face.
I was literally taken aback, I almost fell head first onto him. I could not believe that I just met my future husband by standing in a balcony!
"O..Oh! Hello. My name is Kat-"
"I know. I was informed all about you dear.." He creeped me out a bit, his fitted black tux made him look for formal than he suggested.
"Wh..."
"Sh..." he put his hand to my lips, "I don't want to do this either. Tomorrow we marry out of not love but money. But, we can make this work. We are expected to have 4 children in 3 years.  Just to keep our family name."
"I... don't understand." I said, taking in all of the new information. I'm expected to have 4 children with a man I just met!?
"Please don't be scared of me. It tends to happen a lot.. You see, I'm always seen as the bad guy and I just want to make friends with someone. I guess I have to start with my wife." He said, tears obviously forming in his beautiful sea blue eyes. He combed his fairly large hand through his hazel hair.
"I understand." I said, instantly feeling empathetic. I took a large step towards him and took both of his hands.
"Would you like to dance?" I say, attempting to change the atmosphere.
"S..ure... But I can't dance..." He sighs,
"Sure you can! Just follow me!" I pulled him towards the packed ballroom, we made our way towards the centre and wrap my arm over his shoulder. I just about reach up to him. He was so tall.
The look on his face was so nervous, he stepped forward and back, we glided in circles as we got more confident and eventually, we were the centre of attention. His eyes were closed, he was smiling. The most beautiful thing about a human is their smile. Then he opened his eyes and stared right into mine. He chuckled sweetly and it seemed like we were the only people in the whole room.

DING DONG.... DING DONG...

A bell rang. Signalling the end of the ball. He kissed my forehead and smiled. Thomas split away from my and walked towards the doors. We weren't allowed to see each other until tomorrow.
After that was a blur. I was hurried to a bathroom and a maid scrubbed me with a sponge until I went bright red all over. I don't think I'll ever get any privacy ever again.  I'm not even allowed to get myself dressed! I thought that was the end but no. I was forced to go to the Chapel to get blessed for eternal happiness. Next on the list was getting my hair in a million plaits to make it wavy, ready for tomorrows stylist. I had two maids tugging at my hair so tightly, I literally screamed. After they were finished torturing my hair, they sprayed it with a toxic formula.
"Hold your breath girlie, you don't wanna breathe this in!" Said one of the maids, too cheerfully. She pressed the trigger and immediately, a cloud of white formed around my head. I had my fingers pinching my nose and my mouth was closed so tightly that I couldn't breathe until she cleared the venom from the air.
"Bedtime sweetheart!" Yelled a lady, probably about 40 years old.
"Oh... sorry to be rude, but who are you!?" I asked,
"I'm your future mother-in-law. My name is Nancy. Nice to meet you!" She had an evil grin in her eyes. Her hair was mainly black but tinted with grey in areas. She wore a crimson red gown, trailing to the floor. She didn't lift it when she walked, mysterious.
She shooed the maids and servants away, yelling at them and hitting them to go faster. I suddenly didn't like this woman.
"Okay dearie, you need to get some beauty sleep. Trust me, you look a mess." Gee thanks... "I'm sorry about those maids. They can get very tedious. Ugh, to bet now!" She ushers me to a large brown door with massive doorknobs. I twist it open and stare at the paradise in front of me.
"This will be your room sweetie, you will be sharing it with Thomas after the honeymoon. Go on. To bed now, little lady. You have a big day ahead of you!" As she exited the room and I heard a lock click. I suddenly had a bad feeling about this witch.
