After graduation, everyone that had just graduated got an extra 2 weeks off school for the summer, that was one of the awesome things about graduating.
Your summer consisted of sleepovers, camps, and going to the beach, with (F/N). Though you tried to have fun this summer, you always have the thought of losing your best friend in high school and being lonely again. You always put on a smile each day though.
One day when you and (F/N) were at the beach by yourselves, the two of you were sun bathing on towels in the sand. You wearing a backless, red one- piece bathing suit and (F/N) wearing a purple- polka dot, blue bikini. You sit up, as so did (F/N). You gaze along the ocean, realising again how beautiful, and breath taking it is. You look to the left of you, you notice kids making sand castles as the mother checked her phone paying no attention to her kids. "Great parenting" you mumble to (F/N) motioning your head towards the mother. You two turn to eachother and giggle. You then look to your right. And you see two seagulls fighting over a french fry. You turn again to (F/N) and said "when someone takes your order at starbucks" pointing to the silly birds. "Dumb birds" (F/N) said before bursting into laughter. After about 30 more minutes of usless conversation, and the two of you laughing until your sides hurt, you decide to go swimming in the lake. The two of you hid valuables under the towels, probably the most obvious place, but you didn't care.(F/N) POV-
So (Y/N) decided that she wanted to go swimming. I am fine with that but she always forgets that she isn't a very good swimmer. I hesitate, than agree. I don't want to end up having to do SPR on my best friend. I tried to hide my phone and money better than (Y/N), but I didn't do a very good job. We decided to be dumb and run in slow motion into the water. Of course this attracted peoples attention. I was self conscious now that everyone was staring. But (Y/N) didn't care. We got into the water and swum out a little bit. I kept in mind my friends ability.
"Why don't we go out further, I want so I can't touch the bottom" (Y/N) said questionably.
"Are you sure? We don't have to!"
I said trying to avoid a disaster.Your POV-
I don't know why (F/N) doesn't want to swim out further, like I know my limits. And I don't want her to be held down by me. "Yeah, it's fine, lets do it!" I shout excitedly swimming ahead, to far ahead.
I didn't know how far I was swimming. I faintly heard (F/N) shout "SLOW DOWN, YOUR GOING TOO FAR!!"
I know I was. I felt my body lose energy. I started to panic!
I gasped for air, wasting my breath on yelling "HELP" *gasp* "HELP"
I started to noticed that (F/N) was beside me. I heard her calling for help.
But it was too late.
I went under. I couldn't breath!Just as I went under within five seconds I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist, pulling me up, and towards shore simultaneously. I reach the air where I then gasp being able to breath. The strong arms carry me bride- style onto shore. As they carried me I look up and realise that I don't know this person, he was so handsome! His thick, soft, short hair patted down from the water. In my mind knew it was the life guard. I looked back seeing (F/N) behind us looking as if she was going to cry. She was scared for me I could tell by her expression. I was still scared though, I still feel unsafe. Or until the life guard looked down on me, our eyes caught glance. I felt safe then. I felt heat rush to my face, I was heavenly blushing. I felt my heart beat faster, I instantly got nervous. He than asked "Are you alright, you almost drowned back there?" The way he said it, so strongly. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, I- I think so" He smirked. He was handsome, and he looked around my age!
[Time past for life guard to leave and (F/N) to come sit with you]
"OMG are you alright!" (F/N) exclaimed sounding really worried.
"Yeah...." I responded watching the life guard walk off.
(F/N) caught me staring and smiled. She hit me playfully "You like him! You really like him!"
I couldn't deny her "So what?" I said smirking!
"You should ask him out!"
I looked at her surprised
"No, I am not going to do that!"Although it crossed my mind I would never do it, I don't have the confidence.
