"Quinn, have you taken your meds today?" the voice was sweet and thick like the syrup they had been pumping into my stomach before I woke up.
"Quinn?" I turned mute, to the women in white beside me and shook my head, she reached inside her apron pocket as she sat p my bed. I took the pills the slinked down my throat hard like rocks. And she went to leave
"Where am I?" my voice was thick and it croaked, they nurse froze I hadn't spoken in days or was it weeks maybe months
"In hospital." She answered without turning
"What kind?"
"The psychiatric kind my dear." My head fell into the pillow and I closed my eyes, of course I was
"Insanity is best judged by those who lack it" my heart leaped but it wasn't the first time I had heard that voice while in this white room
"And we're are all mad here, aren't we Alice" I looked to the blue and green cat stretched out on the window sill outside.
"That we are chess that we are."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
