Okay, apologies for taking so long to upload the next chapter. I have been busy with college and also i have been partying a little too hard (friend from london came to visit so we got very drunk) glad to have had an early shift at work so i could get this out. will try to be more regular.

P.s. so glad to have so many people reading. Thank you.

Being dragged out of the locker rooms by Charlotte I was stunned at what she had whispered to me. I just need to ask to touch her next time? What did she mean by that? I was clearly reading too much into it and shook my head as though to clear my thoughts. Charlotte had come to a stop having let go of my arm and I led the way into the main sports hall, The p.e. instructor informed us that the two p.e. classes would be put together and would be playing dodge ball. I punched my fist in the air happily turning to see Charlotte slide her glasses further up her nose looking quite fearful. “Mr. Dale, would it be okay for Charlotte to be on my team, it’s her first day?” I piped up, as he looked at Charlotte nodding. Smiling I elbowed her saying “just hide behind me you’ll be fine.” I said making my way to the other end of the hall as another class entered.

I groaned as I watched a long legged group of girls followed by a tall set of basketball players. I had forgotten that the other class was made up mostly of cheerleaders and basketball players. As Mr. Dale split us up into teams I smiled as most of the people of my own friends, whereas the other time seemed to contain the majority of basketball players with a few cheerleaders, one being Melissa. I smiled relishing the fact I might be able to hit her extremely hard with one of the squidgy pink balls. Standing at opposite ends of the hall everyone on the teams rearing to go waiting eagerly for the whistle Charlotte quickly whispered “be careful” just before the shrill ringing of the whistle and everyone burst forwards towards the balls.

Grabbing a ball I ducked as one came soaring for my head thrown by one of the basketball players I threw my own ball hitting him on the arm. Out. I smiled in triumph and quickly turned to see how Charlotte was doing. She was standing behind our team looking very awkward and trying her best to dodge the flying balls, how cute. A gasp emitted from her lips as a ball whizzed towards me, I luckily caught it and threw it back towards the assailant hitting their shin. Another one bites the dust. Before long most of my team were out including my best friend Alison who had unfortunately taken two dodge balls at the same time, one on her stomach the other on her left leg. The opposing team still had at least 3 basket ball players and 4 cheerleaders as well as Mason. Mason grinned at me, and me thinking that as he was a friend he wouldn’t aim for me nodded back only to have to quickly jump over a ball sent aiming for my legs sent by him. Furious I picked up a ball and preparing to aim it at him he was suddenly hit by a pink ball straight into his groin. A gasp followed by a quick apology emitted from beside me. Charlotte had somehow amassed the strength to send one of the balls flying so quickly that it had almost knocked Mason over, I watched as he wheezed and limped his way to the side as Charlotte shouted strings of apologies, claiming to have not meant to hit him in such a delicate area.

Laughing I threw my ball not hitting anyone as several balls flew towards Charlotte, I turned to see her dodge the two coming towards her but then suddenly from nowhere a third ball hit her directly in the face and she fell over backwards. I rushed over to see her curled up her hand over her face holding her nose and her now broken glasses. There was a light spattering of blood on the gym floor too. Anger rose up in me as I turned to see a smirking Melissa, the obvious culprit. Grabbing two pink balls I marched towards her throwing them as hard as I could the both missed her but she flinched as they hit the wall behind her with a loud bang. “What the hell were you doing Melissa!” I screamed right in front of her face.

“erm.. Playing dodge ball, and from the looks of things your friend over there isn’t doing a great job.” she smirked again, I was ready to slap her face when Mr. Dale blew his whistle. “Girls that’s enough, Alex, take your friend to the infirmary. Melissa don’t come to cheer practice today.” was all I heard as I stormed off in the direction of the fallen Charlotte. “c’mon Char, I will take you to the infirmary.” I said offering my hand. She took it with her non bloody hand and we walked towards the infirmary my arm around her waist.
