"Ellena! Why is your name on the men's lacrosse sign ups?! You promised me you wouldn't tread onto my sport!" My friend Kasey screamed through the phone. "This is the one thing I'm good at, cant you find something else to do?" I rolled my eyes knowing she couldn't see it.

"Calm yourself. If you read the sheet, under position it says manager. I'm not even playing, I'm just assisting the coach. " That's when I heard the little hang up tone. Well, someone's in a mode.

I went to my locker and grabbed my new sticks and through the halls in attempt to find my best friend Alice. She wasn't to into lacrosse, but she was the only person who agreed to waste time with me before the meeting.

Alice was more of a track girl. She loved running, which was good because she was faster then any person I had met. She always had good grades, but I wouldn't wouldn't exactly call her a nerd, she was too laid back to be a nerd.

When I finally found Alice she was at her locker attempting to get away from her small, younger sister. "I swear to God if you do not leave I will tell mom that you've been hiding report cards from her." I heard Alice speak in an angry tone.

"Pipsqueak, time to go." I said with a smirk, walking behind Alice. The small girl rolled her eyes and walked away, knowing that if she didn't leave her mother would hear about the upcoming weekend. I handed Alice one of the sticks and we began to walk to The Wall. The Wall was the the outer side of the school that didn't have any windows, making it great for throwing things at.

"Guess who called to yell at me today?" I said throwing the ball to Alice.

"Either your father or Psycho." She caught the ball and effortlessly returned the ball to my stick with a toss.

"Kasey's mad that I signed on to the lacrosse sheet but she didn't realize I put manager and not a position. " She laughed at Kasey's reaction as a whipped the ball against the wall.

"When's the meeting, I wanna know when I can go home and take a nap." She said, catching the fast ball and lightly tossing it back to my stick.

"Four twenty five. If you wanna leave now you can just keep that stick until this weekend so I don't have to carry two in there. " She grabbed her backpack and put the lacrosse stick through one of the straps.

"See you tomorrow El. " I waved goodbye and tossed a few more before going inside to change. I took of my work out clothes and put on my leggings and flannel. My work out clothes went back into my gym locker, I sprayed on some Cologne I stole from a friend and made my way to the meeting.

Meetings like this made my heart sink. I hated sitting in places with large amounts of people, even if it is about something I know a lot about. The biggest reason I hated meetings like this was because of the people who would come to them. Seniors would be 'fashionably' late, Freshman would be extremely early, Sophomores would show up exactly on time and Juniors usually called in and would tell a coach that they wanted to play but couldn't attend the meeting or actually came prepared.

And then, there was Jack Ice. Captain of the team, major asshole, and sadly my ex-boyfriend. He was one of the cockiest people known to man. On the other hand, he was one of the most attractive juniors in North Lake High. He had this 'friends' that he used as pawns to do his evil bidding even though they're actually pretty decent people.

"Ellena, I thought lacrosse wasn't your thing. Did you come to bask in my glory?" Jack spoke with a cocky laugh and smirk.

"I'm the manager Ice. And the only think I'm basking in, would be your body odor." I returned his cocky smirk as I sat down at the table beside his and filled out the paper work required.

The meeting went on normally for a good thirty minutes. After the thirty minutes, Jack and I had managed to change our tone from petty fight to full out war.

"Ms. Downs and Mr. Ice, take your packets and sit in the hall. I'm not going to talk over you right now and were not on the field so I'm not yelling. " Coach Brail said, sending us to the hall.

After sitting in the cold hallway in silence for a good amount of time, Jack's binder quickly hit the wall across from us. "I wouldn't be out here if you would of just kept your mouth shut.." He angrily mumbled and I shot a glare at him.

"Me? What about you? You were saying the same amount of shit that I was but louder!" He ran his fingers through his short dark hair.

"Yea, but I actually belong here. You belong in your little lesbo circle. " With out thinking I automatically became a bitch.

"It's not my fault that I can please women better then you do and please men better then half of your friends with benefits!" His eyes widened and he rolled his eyes, immediately snapping back at me.

"Don't act like you didn't enjoy me and that you don't miss me. Homecoming was the best night of your life." My smirk turned to smile and I found myself laughing.

"Maybe the one you were to busy playing Madden to come." As I finished the sentence Coach Brail came out.

"Are you two done acting like children?" Jack and I nodded yes, knowing that we were lying. Coach Brail looked at me before speaking. "As the manager, you need to be responsible enough not to start fights and to keep players on track, not drag them off course by screaming. " I nodded yes and apologized, feeling terrible about interrupting the meeting.

He then looked to Jack. "And Ice, not only as a player, but as a Team Captain, you need to set an example for the younger players. You need to make new additions to the team feel welcome." He paused and grabbed Jack's binder and dropped it by Jack.

"You two have equal responsibilities, The only difference is that Ice is a player and Downs is in charge of the events and equipment the players use. You both have one strike, if you get one more your membership to the team, will be terminated. Hand in the paper work for your position and I will see you both Tuesday for AM practice. "
