I woke up to a a screeching alarm. Groaning, I got up and went to hit it. I missed before realizing that I wasn't my room. "Ellena." I rolled over to see Jack still half asleep. "Come back to bed."

"What happened last night? " I asked not completely remembering how I got there and why I was in a great amount of pain. "Did we hook up?" He let out a small laugh.

"No, John hit you and you came here." He picked up his phone and looked at the date. "Fuck, we have school don't we?" I nodded yes and pulled the blanket off my body.

"Yea. I don't have clothes so I guess I'll just wear what I practiced in yesterday. " I shrugged my shoulders into the mirror, seeing the bruise on the side of my face and the darkened red marks around my neck.

"That's nasty." The threw a towel towards me and I caught it. "Go shower in my bathroom and I'll see if I still have a pair of your sport shoes or something, since you never took any of your stuff. " I smiled and thanked him.

I walked into the bathroom and my smile at the familiarly of the room. I took my shower, playing my music quietly occasionally singing with it. When I got out a wrapped myself and peaked my head out the door. "Did you find anything? "

He nodded no, bringing me a small pile of clothes. "No but I grabbed a pair of my basketball shorts and a shirt of mine that was to small for me that I doubt someone will notice is mine. " I took the clothes from him and quickly put them on. I brushed my hair before walking out. "Not too shabby for hand-me-downs. "

I pulled him into an unsuspected hug, thanking him for helping me through all he had. He hesitantly put his arms around me for the hug, ad if he was unsure about something. He said it was no big deal. I pulled away from the hug with a small smile stuck km my face.

"Wait." I said remembering that I had hid something in his bathroom when we we're dating. I walked over to the medicine cabinet and pulled open the drawer that Jack had 'broken', meaning that he super glued it so his parents wouldn't find the small bottle of Scotch he had hidden in there. I moved the Scotch and grabbed my eyeliner that I had hidden. He looked at me confused as I put it on.

"You his eyeliner in my Scotch drawer?" I nodded yes and he laughed. "So full of surprises. "

When I finished he grabbed his backpack and we made our way to his car. My backpack was still in my he'll of a house, but I didn't want to grab it or make Jack go anywhere near that house. If he did go by that house, I had a strong feeling he would kill my father.

We pulled into the parking lot, getting confused glares when we walked into the school.

I walked off to homeroom to see Alice deep in a book and Alex tossing erasers at the kid who sat in front if him. Alex looked up from his target and quickly made his way over to me. He grabbed my chin and moved my face around. "Where did you go after he hit you? Please don't tell me you stayed there. Why didn't you come to our house El?" He whispered.

"You and Alice didn't pick up you're phone. In fact, no one answered their phone accept for Jack. He picked me up and I stayed there. " I shrugged my shoulders and walked to my desk.

"You mean the one you we're calling a womanizer and a pig no more them two weeks ago? People don't just magically change unless they want something El." He continued to ramble on until the bell rang, giving me a way out of the conversation.

"You're friends with him, why can't I be?" I asked before heading to first period.

My wrist was grabbed, pulled to the side of the crowded hall. "You can't make out with me at a party but you can sleep with Jack on a school night?!" Steven snapped at me.

"I slept with Jack? " I asked confused.

"Lisa saw you two go to his house last night. Kasey saw you two leave his house together this morning and you're wearing his clothes. " His face showed no emotion except for anger.

"I stayed at his house last night, I didn't sleep with him I just slept in his house. I can't tell you why. I wish I could explain why to you but I can't." My voice was slightly shaky, but I was unclear if it was because I was afraid of Steven snapping at me, or I was afraid of explaining to another person what I went through.

"Do you not trust me Ellena? Is that why you can't tell me? You know, I thought we had something and you sleep with one of my best friends. Real classy." He released my hand and went to walk away.

Hesitantly, I pulled him back and he looked at me disgusted. "Ill tell you if you promise not to tell anyone, and I mean anyone. If you say anything i could die or be sent away." He sighed and agreed to keep to himself. Slowly, I pulled the pink length of hair and pushed it away to reveal the bruise on my face and neck.

"Did Jack do that to you? Ill kill him Ellena if he hurt you." I could feel his anger building. "Ellena did he do anything else to you? I swear I'm going to kill him."

The bell went off, announcing that no matter what we were going to go now, we would be late to class.

"No, no, no. It wasn't Jack. Don't even let Jack know you know. I Don't know how to say it with out you thinking I'm lying." I said, nerves rattling.

Maybe this is a bad idea. Maybe i shouldn't tell him. He's just going to think I'm lying.

He pulled me into a hug, seeing how nervous I was. "El, I won't think you're lying. Just tell me."

I let out a small sigh and attempted to calm myself. "My, my dad, beats me." I whispered shakily and he slowly pulled away from the hug.

"I'm going to kill him."
