I woke up with sweat trickling down my face. The words from the TV were stuck in my mind,

Anna Bark... Missing... Missing... Missing...

I groaned and rolled over. I felt like I was falling through an endless pit with no way out. Suddenly the door opens and I sit up with a start.

"Rise and shine, Sunshine."

I fell back onto my pillow,

"Ugh, go away."

"C'mon we need to get to school"

Davis pulled at my covers. I snatched them and pulled them over my head,

"Go away," I said through the sheets. He keeps tugging,

"Let's go. Let's go. Breakfast is ready."

He pulls my arms and I reluctantly sit up.

"C'mon get your slippers on."

"Yes, mom."

He rolls his eyes at me,

"Five minutes. Don't go back to sleep."

I stand up and stumble into the bathroom. I splashed cold water on my face. That is cold. Damn, I hate mornings. I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and started to brush my teeth.

When I came out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed. I caught the smell of bacon and eggs. Mmm, that smells good.

I walked into the kitchen,

"You know I never figured you as a good cook. Wow you're surprising."

Davis smiles,

"I live to serve."

I sat down and started to shovel the food into my mouth. Davis looked at me with amusement,

"You know it's not the end of the world right?"

I rolled my eyes. Finishing the last piece of bacon from my plate, I down my glass of milk, and grab my bag.

"I'm going to school. You done?"

He nods,

"I'm gonna drive," He said as he grabbed his keys and bag.

I grumbled,

"C'mon. Be nice and let the girl drive."

He ignores me and walks out to his driveway. Sitting there was a black Audi R8. I gaped at him,

"A little conspicuous don't you think?"

He laughs,

"Just get in."

I do and sank into the leather seats, Wow this is seriously a nice car. Davis starts the car and the engine purrs to life.

We arrived at the school parking lot and I get out. Kids stared at me and Davis but mostly at the awesome car. Stephanie and her bitches started whispering. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I knew that gossip was following them everywhere they go. I smirked internally, Bring it on bitches, bring it on.

With my bag slung over my shoulder I started towards calculus. Davis ran after me,

"Hey, I'll walk you to class."

I smiled at him with false sweetness,

"Thanks but no thanks, I have a hard enough time without a puppy chasing after me."

Davis' eyebrows creased then he looked up at Stephanie,

"Oh, okay then."

I walked away quickly and took my seat just as the bell rung. The teacher was late. Again. The barbie dolls walked in with their fake smiles and excessive eyeliner. They seriously looked like demented cats. They sneered at me for what seemed like the millionth time,

"So, slut strikes again. Not only that but you're a gold digger too. Like that makes it any better."

The whole class looked at me expecting me to punch Stephanie again but I just shot her a false smile,

"At least I'm not an tool unlike you and your idiots."

"What did you say? Do you even know who I am?!"

I nod,

"Yeah, completely. A dumbass."

She scowled, and one of her groupies jumped in, "More like you are the dumbass, you can't even tell when you're not wanted! Bitch!"

I furrowed my eyebrows,

"Why are you talking to yourself? You should look into a mirror cause one day you'll finally see that you are only the shadow of a slut."

"You're asking for it." Stephanie said calmly, but unsuccessfully hiding her rage. She clicked her heels and stomped away, I just sat there.

"Bitch." I muttered under my breath.

At the end of class, Stephanie stormed out of the room. I stared after her suspiciously.

My stomach growled,

Wow, I'm hungry. Too bad the lunch here is crap.

I walked into the boisterous cafeteria and went back to the table I sat at when Jerk Face had decided to give me a show. Davis was sitting there. He looked up,

"Hey, I figured you wouldn't want to eat the lunch here so I brought you a sandwich."

He handed me a container.

"I don't want it." I snapped, brushing the heavy container away.

He looked hurt for a moment, "Why not?"

"Why not? You're asking me why not? I just had to deal with your fucking groupie! And now you're offering me a sandwich? I don't understand you! Why are you nice to me? You're so annoying sometimes! You keep on following me like a stupid whiny puppy! What's wrong with you, Davis? Did Stephanie bribe you into being a stalker? It's bad enough having to deal with shit all day and if you leave me alone, that will be so much better! I have enough to deal with at home. So can you just-" I was yelling by then and I was totally in one of my moods, but I couldn't care less, " leave me alone?!"

Davis' eyes darkened. He got up and walked away. I was still breathing heavily. I looked at the box on the table and picked it up. Staring at it I sighed,

It's better this way. I shouldn't get too close to him.

I walked away and put the box in my bag.
