Walking on the cool streets of Miami, I wandered aimlessly. I had no idea where I was going until I reached a lone café with a flashing 24/7 sign. I smiled, remembering the first time I met Davis.  I pushed the door open. The familiar bells rang. Davis was sitting behind the counter reading again. He looked up sleepily. When he saw me standing in front of him, his smile blinded me.

"Hey, What brings you here?"

He looks down at my luggage,

"And why do you have suitcases with you?"

I sat a one of the stools and put my head down. Why am I here? I'm such a mess.

I feel his hand on my shoulder I look up at his concern.

"Whats up?"

I threw myself into his arms. He falls to the floor in surprise and I start sobbing into his shirt.

He awkwardly puts his arms around me and pats my back in an attempt to comfort me.

I could feel his warmth through his shirt as he held me. I just wanted to stay here forever. Safe in his arms but instead I pushed away and wiped away my tears.

"Um, s-sorry about that. I just..."

He shrugged,

"That's okay but can you tell me what's going on?"

I nodded silently.

He gets up and offers me his hand. Staring at it for a while, I take it.

Pulling me up, I can see his muscles wrapped in his tight shirt.

I licked my dry lips and settled onto the stool. He sat next to me with his hands folded.

"So...," he prompted.

I took a deep breath and launched into the story of how I ended up there. Careful to leave out the parts where I beat up my father and how he trashed my room, it finally ended.

I gasped like I hadn't taken a breath the whole time. For the entire time I was speaking, hadn't moved an inch. His eyes were still trained onto my face.

I wave my hands in front of him,

"Hello? Anyone home?"

He blinked and shook his head like he just woke up and was trying to wake up his brain.

I pressed my lips together,

"Well, sorry for bothering you." I said in an annoyed tone.

He shakes his hands in front of him,

"No no. I was just thinking about how-"

I frowned,

"How... What?"

He shook his head again,

"Nothing."

I crossed my arms.

He smiles,

"So, since you don't have anywhere to go, why don't you stay at my place until things cool down with your dad or you find your own place?"

I raised my eyebrows,

"Your place?"

He shrugs,

"Yeah. Why not?"

I gave him a look.

"What?" he says exasperatedly.

I smirked,

"You just met me and you're offering to let me stay at your place."

He grins, amused.

"Yea, I guess so. Why? You like me so much you can't bear to face my excellence all day everyday?"
