She heard the screams
Saw the violence
Everywhere she went it was always the same
Same argument
Same lies
But worst of all, the same truths
And every time she would run
To her room
Tears flowing out, screaming inside
The four walss
Could never keep it out
She still tries to block the sounds
Deep in the back of her closet
She hides, under her blanket
Clinging to her heart for dear life
She can feel the shattering
Break by break
Love is inching away
This has become the life she knows
Lies, betrayal, deceit and pain
It's all that's left outside her closet doors
But when she hides
She can be free
In the corner where she sleeps
The yelling fades
And she's lost in her dreams
Where she's loved and free.
