The Rope

Chapter 6

The note read:

You will find your treasure within 76 hours from now,
but if you don't you will be sorry.
I will get my treasure,
If you do not find it.
My precious treasure,
Is also yours.
Find the hidden pattern within the ropes.
Let me know what you find.
I may seem evil,
But I,
What you call the 'evil' Dr. Drew,
Am not as you think,
I'm here to help,
but I do need my treasure.

"Do you think Mrs. Quinn could be the treasure?" Roxy asked.
"Could be, but the other note said that we needed to find ours before we could find his." Jeffrey replied.
"Yea, and he said that it's close, but so far." I said.
"Timothy is really going to help us." Roxy laughed.
"Yea, we need him!" I replied laughing.
"Dr. Drew, do you have access to the security cameras, or security system? We could look to see if there is any footage of the 'evil Dr. Drew'?" John asked. We hadn't even noticed John had come in.
"Hi there, John! And, no, I don't. But, I have an idea. Follow me- well not really because I'm hurt- I will give you directions." He replied.
"Ok, thank you, sir!" Jeffery smiled.
"Go to the main office at the front of the school. There will be a key in the middle drawer on the right side of the  desk, the one that is the oldest, and you will have to lift a price of creme colored paper. It should be a silver key with the initials, TQI, then you will go to Ms. Quinn's room and open her closet. You will find what you need in there." Dr. Drew said very specifically.
"Wow, that's a lot of information, but I am very thankful for it. Just one question, what does Ms. Quinn have to do with this?" Roxy asked quite perplexed.
"Oh, well that is my little secret." He chuckled under his breath.
"

Ok, then." Jeffrey said.
"I guess I will go since I'm the only one who can physically walk, besides John." I said.
"I'll go with you!" John nearly screamed.
"O-oh, ok" I replied rather confused. "He's never volunteered to do anything that has to do with me. In fact, I've never known him to be nice either. I have a feeling he wants to know something, something he will get out of me. What could it be?" I thought.
  Without me noticing, John had already started for the door. "Ashley, are you comin'?" He said gesturing me to 'come on'.
"Yes, of course. Maybe you all can think of something while Sam and I are gone. A plan of some sort to help us find this 'treasure' before it's too late." I said leaving the room.
"So, Ashley..." John began.

"Ashley is right. We need to think of something for us to do to find the treasure. Does anyone have any idea of what this 'treasure' could be?" Roxy began taking order.
"I think we need to do some research on this Drew character. He seems rather sinister, I still feel uneasy from earlier." Jeffrey said shivering.
"I think that's a good idea. We should go to the computer lab- oh, never mind- we are injured. Well, I am a nurse, so I could try to make us better." Dr. Drew stated.
"Not a problem with me." Jeffrey replied happily. He thought that he could possibly be able to help Ashley find Elizabeth and anything else they needed to do, because the note did say they'd be sorry if they didn't get it back to him. "We have no time to waste."

"So, Ashley. I know that you like Jeffrey and all, but I know one other person that likes you, and he doesn't know how to say it." John began turning red.
"First of all, Jeffrey and I are just really good friends. Second, that person could tell me of he wanted I wouldn't mind, well, get mad that is." I replied.
"So, it's ok if I told that person that your wouldn't mind?"
"Yep, sure."
"Oh, thanks, Ashley! You're the best!" He replied now rather happily.
"Could you tell me who it is?" I asked hoping it wasn't him.
"Not exactly, well, not at this moment. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to, because I have to make sure he still likes you."
"Oh ok! That's fine with me."
"Thanks for understanding."
And with that we walked into the office.

  Dr. Drew had done a fine job of finding braces, bandages, ice, and all of his nursing instruments to help all of the injured, including himself.
  Jeffery needed ice and a bandage, because he just had a really bad bruise and gash on his leg. Roxy got a brace and ice for her leg to help with the swelling. Dr. Drew needed the same thing as Jeffery, except for his back and his ankle.
"Thank you so much, Dr. Drew! I hate that you stopped working here, because you are the best nurse in the world." Roxy said giving the nurse a hug.
"I'm just doing my job." Dr. Drew replied meekly.
"Aw, Dr. Drew. You know it!" Jeffery said nudging his arm.
"Well, I'm just glad that my work comes in handy." He said winking at both of them.
"I'm thinking we will be better in no time!" Roxy said.
"I hope Ashley and John find Elizabeth, the key, and everything else they need and get here by 3:00, because that should give us enough time to recover." Jeffrey said staring at the clock ticking. It had only been 30 minutes, but it seemed like it had been hours! "That should give them 15 minutes to get back, and enough time for us to think up a plan."

  The office was huge. The newest and cleanest desks that I'd ever seen.
"I guess it's for the new school year." I thought.
  It had multiple desks, and the oldest one wasn't hard to find.
"Here it is!" John said opening the middle drawer on the right side of the desk.
"Look under the paper." I instructed.
"I know, I know." He said rolling his eyes. "Found it!" He said with a rather cheesy smile holding up the key proudly.
"Nice! Now we can go to Ms. Quinn's room." I replied heading for the door.
"Ashley!" John screamed once I opened the door.
We both screamed. I was met by a pair of deep blue eyes filled with malice.
It was the 'evil Dr. Drew'.
