Its been a year since we started dating. We were happy for the first few months, but things started to change. Our relationship starting slipping and falling. I started to lie. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to stay with him, I had no other choice.
The door creeks open and Ravi walks into the room. I put on my smile that has become a mask of mine. "How are you?" I ask. He slumps onto the couch right next to me, putting his arm around my shoulders.
"Tired." He says. I lean my head on his, our hair brushing each other. Being next to him feels comfortable, but it's not the same as before. His scent reeks of a girl.
"Who were you with?" I ask.
"A girl client." He says. Ravi's job deals with talking to other people, but I don't remember what it was. "You know I love you." Ravi says, grabbing my chin. He brings his lips down to mine, pressing them together into a kiss.
After he breaks the kiss, I reply, "I love you too." My masked smile pops onto my face once more, I don't know why. Ravi grins at me with the same smile. Later, he falls asleep with me in his arms.
I stare at the television that is off. Looking at our reflection in the screen. I don't want to let him go, I want him to be mine. If I have to, I will continue on lying even if it hurts.
