Part 7 The fire..

-Laurence's POV-

I smelled smoke I turned quickly to Garroth and told him we rushed inside Aphmau's house and knocked on her door no answer...Garroth and I barged in. we looked in her room. Nothing...the basement still no Aphmau in sight.. That's when Dante came running to us he told us to follow him.. Without any questions we followed him leading us to a burning house.. I told Dante to quickly evacuate any villagers living near by and take them to the plaza. Dante ran as fast as he could doing what he was told.

I quickly took off the things in front of the door to unblock the entrance.. my hands burned it hurt but, I had to make sure...no one was in there..

"Garroth get water! NOW!"

"I'm on it! "he said rushing to get water buckets.

I walked inside. I looked on the floor in shock....Could it be my love....Aphmau......NO I refuse to belive its her! I approach the body.....and turn it over I see her face...IT'S APHMAU!!! I yelled. I turned around and saw Garroth behind me he put the fire out little by little.

"GARROTH APHMAU IS INJURED!!!" I yelled.

"WHAT NO WHOEVER DID THIS WILL PAY!" Garroth yelled.

I carried Aphmau out of the fire without noticing how I'm burning my hands ... and ignored the bruises on myself. I take her to her house...were she is beginning to recover. I could see a lot of bruises on her and blood on her arms.....

"How could we let this happen Garroth...?" I said in a soft voice tearing up.

"I don't know but when I find out who did this Ill----"

I cut him off. "Garroth we cant assume anything the best we can do is wait for her to wake up she might've had a glimpse of who had don't this.." I told him.

"You're right you stay here and watch over her for the night I'll go check out the house.."

"alright Garroth be careful okay bud."

"I will Just keep her safe for me Laurence."

I walked over to Aphmau. Sat by her side. I grabbed her hand and I felt a gentle squeeze. I was happy to see she responded and that she is doing well I love her a lot and the last thing I want is the girl of my dreams , the light of my darkness be token away from me...

"L-Laurence....." Aphmau said in a voice that was hard for me to hear.

'A-Aphmau I'm here for you..." she squeezed my hand tighter.

"I smiled. and let her grab my hand.

"Laurence don't leave me...."she opened her eyes a bit.

"I will never leave you." I told her smiling.

She smiled. T-thank you....she dozes of to sleep.

"your welcome." I whispered to myself.

I got up a kissed her head. I smiled. she is so cute asleep...I hope I find out who did this and....I forgot to ask her dang it....I'll let her sleep for now she seems have look comfortable asleep.
