-Kacey's POV-
I was currently in my room straightening my hair to get ready to go the airport. My brother is finally going to be here in person for almost ten years.
The only reason this was my first time seeing my brother in almost ten years was because when Kareem declined the crowning of his rightful place on the throne, my father banished him from the palace. My father thought that Kareem was being unreasonable and weak so he was no longer welcomed. Mother was infuriated, heartbroken, and frustrated. She was heartbroken that Father punished and banned Kareem from the palace all because he didn't want to be King and just wanted to live a normal life. And of course she was going to be infuriated and frustrated, because Father was treating Kareem like a stranger on the street instead of a son.
I shook my head at what Father did. I don't even know who he is most of the time. I understand what he is trying to do and I also know that he only wants with best for his kids but sometimes he just goes overboard.
But I will not dwell on the past. I am finally seeing my brother and I couldn't be more happier.
I stopped in my process of flat ironing and grabbed my phone to see the remaining duration of Kareem's flight.
'How much time until you arrive?'
'20 more minutes.'
I looked at the time and it was 4:47.
'Okay see you soon .'
I began flat ironing the last piece of my hair when I heard the front door being opened and slammed hard against the doorframe. I jolted out of my seat and rushed out my room.
I seen Justin along with Khalil and Chaz frequently rushing around the room and looking ballistic. I rushed down the stairs and stopped Chaz in his tracks.
"Chaz what's the matter? What's going on? Why are you guys running around like your in a hurry?" I rushed out my questions.
Chaz heaved in and out and began trying to explain what was wrong.
"Uncle. Almost here. Gotta go," he said.
I averted my eyes back and forth and tried to capture what he just said. "Okay calm down and take deep breaths. What happened?"
Instead of answering my question, he grabbed my arm and lead me up the stairs.
"No time to explain Kacey. And besides I think it'll be better if Justin explain," he said. I broke my arm from him and crossed my arms in front of me. "No! What the hell is going on?" I asked him.
Chaz eyes widened when I swore at him. Well I was getting agitated with everyone keeping everything hidden from me. I'm not a child anymore. I'm old and mature enough to know what is about to happen in my life and a lot more.
Chaz took a deep breath and said, "Ask Justin later but right now we have to get you packed. You are no longer safe in L.A."
"But what does my uncle have to do with this?" I asked him while grabbing my suitcases. Chaz began helping me pack, obviously trying to avoid my question.
"Chaz."
"Kacey look just pack please," he said. I paused for a second and then just did what I was told, like always. Then Khalil burst through the door. "Y'all packing slow as fuck. Speed this shit up," he said while snapping his fingers. Khalil began helping too. If you call just tossing my clothes in the suitcase nonchalantly.
I just let him do him. "Where's Justin?" Chaz asked Khalil.
"On the phone with Karoski and packing. He told me the plane would be here 25 minutes."
But my brother!
"No. We have to get Kareem. He's landing in 20 minutes and I'm not leaving him," I told Khalil while stopping my packing. I headed back downstairs to find Justin.
Every time something good comes my way, it has to be taken from me. Tears angrily ran down my face but I hastily wiped them off my face.
I found Justin packing also while still on the phone. "Yea, we're almost done packing and then we'll be on our way to the jet."
"No we won't. Not without Kareem. I'm not getting on that jet," I told Justin. Justin turned at my voice and told Karoski he'll call him back later. "What?" He asked me, looking at me in disbelief.
"Kacey we don't have time for this."
"I don't care. Either you take my brother also or I just won't go," I said.
Justin ran his fingers midway through his hair before pulling on his ends. "Oh my fucking gosh! Quit acting like a brat. I need to get you to safety."
I flinched when he yelled at me. I swallowed my fear and tucked my chin up. Like my mother always said, never show fear and weakness. "Not without Kareem. As soon as we're done packing, we are picking up Kareem and then will be on the jet," I stated my demand and walked out the door.
"Whatever," he said while going into his closet to get some more clothes, jewelry, and some shoes.
I went back upstairs to see Chaz sitting on one of my suitcases while Khalil was trying to zip it up. I scrunched my eyebrows at the sight and a hint of a smile appeared on my face. "What are you doing?"
Khalil stopped and looked over his shoulders. "What it look like? I'm trying to close this damn thing. You have a lot of clothes," he said while straining to close the suitcase. I shook my head at these two and went into the bathroom and gathered my hair care products and feminine products.

It took fifteen minutes to get everything packed and into the car. We took the Range Rover. Justin got into the driver's seat and revved up the engine. "Kacey, text your brother and let him know we are on the way."
He began racing out the driveway and got on the highway to the airport. I grabbed my phone and sent Kareem a quick text, telling him we were minutes away from the airport. The drive was quiet all expect for the soft music playing on the radio.
Leaving me in my thoughts, I just looked out the window and just stared at the people walking the streets, the sky high buildings, and bakeries and so much more.
I just want to be normal. Hell I couldn't even get my driving lessons with Justin. Life is so unpredictable and inevitable but it goes on.
