In a matter of minutes, Chasity was on the back of Bubs, demanding that he take her home. He began to fly and soon came to the very top of the sky when she could cross over and go back into her own world. She had to leave. She had told her father she needed to stay late at school for help with homework and she had to be home by now.
As soon as Bubs decreased his speed, Chasity stood up on his hard back and jumped with all her might to get beyond the last layer of the sky. In exactly 3 seconds, she was home. Right in front of her closet.
Chasity glanced at the clock. It was 5:52pm. Her father would be home soon, so she did her best to tidy up the apartment. She didn't need to be yelled at today. She was tired of being yelled at; she was tired of being mistreated. She had just finished fixing dinner, right as he walked through the door.
"Girl! Where's my food," he said from the living room.
"Almost done.." Chasity said so faintly he was unable to hear her.
"Now!" he screamed.
As Chasity made her way to the living room, to the couch where he was sitting, she tripped on her feet and almost, just almost dropped his whole dinner. As she placed the plate and water on the little table where he rested his feet, a sharp pain took over the back of her head.
"Be careful girl! I work hard everyday to pay the bills and put clothes on your ungrateful back! You'd think you'd be less clumsy and not almost drop my dinner." Chasity's father groaned. The pain from the blow was still there and Chasity felt the back of her head for bruises but instead she felt a sticky liquid. It was blood.
"Well go on, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE YOU SORRY EXCUSE FOR A CHILD!" her father roared.
"Yes daddy." she said cowering.
