A kind of happiness

He was always fond of her. To be precise, very fond of her.
He knew that her heart does not belong to him, but another man, so he would just keep his own feelings to himself, just standing by her side, looking at her...and him.
Whenever she was hurt, he would always be the first one to help.
Even though he left the island for an adventure , his heart remained there, with her, making sure he would be alive to see her again. Everytime he comes back , he would only bring one present, and that present belongs to no one but her.
He might call her names, with a dead serious straight face, almost no emotion, but she sure didn't mind much. Everytime someone asks him why would he call her names he would only reply," not everyone deserves to be called names by me."
He might seem quite arrogant, but his arrogance would be left aside whenever he was with her, along with his pride. She was his everything.
Yet he was confused by his own feelings, does he really like her? There was no answer, but he was clear about what he wanted to do.
He wanted her to be happy.
He would always stay by her side, treat her nicely unconditionally, always care for her feelings, his mind was filled with nothing but her. If she was alone, he would always volunteer to work with her, making sure that she would always feel at ease, making sure that smile of her would never fade away from her delicate angelic doll-like face. She was perfect in every way in his eyes. She's the universe to him.
Perhaps her heart did not belong to him, but he would simply be satisfied by just staying by her side, although the relationship between the two were mere friends.
He was thankful, thankful to her for being a part of his life, even though everything didn't end as his wishing upon the stars, but he was still thankful. Those memories as a mere friend, an excuse he would say, to stay by her side, to protect her, he would just wish her with all his heart: be happy, (y/n).
This was one kind of happiness, yet quite an odd one.
