Grandmother-Shining Down

** I wrote this after the death of my grandmother (Memaw) on February 14,2011, may she be shining down on me and I hope she is R.I.P.**

I am the sunshine

On your face

I will be that warm embrace

That graces

Your face

Every morning

I know you'll be mourning

My death

Take a breath

Rest

Your head

I know you've been weeping

I'm not permanently leaving

You

My hand will always be resting on your shoulder

When you feel a wave of heat

that's me holding ya

The rain that falls on your shoulders

Is me

Crying with you

I love you

My dear grandchild

I will see you again

One day

All this pain will go away

Just remember my name

And smile on the memories we made

together

It'll get better

It's not like you'll never

see me again

I'll see you once again

Some day

This I pray
