I am back! Enjoy this!

SCARLET'S POV:

Since morning's conversation with Caleb, I didn't see him through out the day. Or if he was home, he hadn't come to our room. And I hadn't gone downstairs.

All day, I was either in front of window or on bed, carrying my heavy heart filled with fury. And that moment, my eyes were on the sky, the dark sky having little stars scattered. The beautiful sight soothed my eyes, a small and weak smile tugged on the corners of my lips.

After remembering, pondering and maddening about past events, I had no strength to let those thoughts wander in my mind again or those memories flash in front of eyes again. So, standing there facing a sky, with an empty mind, heart, soul and eyes was the best thing I could do.

The cool night breeze hit me, making me close my eyes and suck the peace out of that air for myself.

Peace; well, it was quite a distant word for me as I had it very less. Almost, never.

Never knew that while having my eyes closed, mind befuddled, heart heavier and soul tangled, I could thought of him. Yeah, him!  It was unexpected for me to even remember him in spite of my own problems. Well, no wonder, my entire day went with my mind filled with my useless life or his mysterious one.

Caleb. The mystery, the puzzle, the wonder...that enticed me, challenged me and made me question life in a very unusual way when I first saw him, sitting right next to me and so distant from the world around himself.

Well, that Caleb occupied my mind even in that moment too. Never caring why, I just stood there, staring at sky and praying for something good to ever happen to me. But, I knew, I was assured that having a person like Caleb for six months, would have never let me get to any good. So, all I wished and decided was to be someone else after those six months and someone strong in those six months.

A knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts and made me turn around, "Yes?"

A girl from servant staff came inside, passed a warm smile before saying, "Mrs Pierce, there is someone waiting for you downstairs." She stood in front of me, with her hands folded and her eyes lowered.

A frown instantly appeared on my forehead, in confusion that who might it be. Without questioning her, I just told, rather too inaudibly, "Coming."

She turned around and exited my room.

Thinking that what if dad paid me visit to threaten me even more, or to check if I was behaving right and not exploiting his any rule, I didn't care if I looked too tired or destroyed, I just lazily opened the door and headed downstairs, to the dimly lit hall.

Servants were passing by, and one of them gestured towards the giant sofa area, where a blonde female was sitting, her back was turned around. My guesses could be right that moment, but without wasting much time on thinking more, I walked to her and to my surprise, I was right.

Those familiar sympathetic blue eyes, and that real frown on her lips and brows were all so familiar, and it all belonged to one and only; Irene. She stood up immediately seeing me, I gestured her to sit down. She did.
