Chapter 1

“Narissa, come back.Shileo needs you.We need our warrior princess,” Danielle heard voices calling out loud, from a distance, slowly fading away,as she blinked her eyes open.

Danielle woke up with sweat dripping all over her face.Drenched in her own sweat, her clothes were clung to her body like a second skin.It was Danielle's birthday today and she was totally worried waking up to a weird but surreal dream. She's been having dreams like this for quite sometime.

She checked the time on her clock, which was at the nightstand and saw it read 5:30 a.m in bold red letters. She ignored the possibility of falling asleep again, though she has about an hour or so,before she wakes up for college, fearing that she might be daunted by those dreams again. It wasn't a nightmare or anything but she didn't want to dream of weird things, causing confusion to arouse in her mind.

Not knowing what to do,she took out a piece of glass and other tools needed for painting, wanting to paint what she saw in her dreams. She wanted it to be real so that she could at least have something to look at and deduce what she actually saw in her dreams.

She took her brushes and squirted some acrylic paint onto her palette. After mixing the colors evenly, she started painting what she saw in her dreams. At first, she thought it was just some place with many people crowded over there, calling out to someone and waiting for them to come, but when the painting was done, she noticed that it wasn't some ordinary place but there were many carrriages, decorated beautifully, with materials made out of pure silk, sewn to perfection.

Danielle also saw that the place was none other than a palace with the king and queen sitting on their thrones, along with four other boys and a girl,a possibility that they may be the king and queen's children. That was all she could deduce from the picture before Adrian, her brother's boisterous voice echoed through her lavishly decorated room with a black and white theme, outshining the other rooms in their quaint three bedroom apartment.

“Happy birthday,Dani!” Adrian yelled at the top of his voice, striking his cymbals together near Danielle's ears to wake her up,when she obviously is wide awake.

Danielle's dainty little things like her acrylic paints and brushes reveberated at Adrian's repeated clashing of cymbals.

“Adrian, stop it before you wake everyone up.We are not in staying in a private property. It's an apartment for God's sake. You guys are gonna get grounded if the society comes to mom and complains about the noise.Keep it low,” Danielle admonished Adrian.

“Nope, sweet little Dani is turning eighteen and you want us to keep it low? This calls for a celebration.Hey Ian,why don't we call our neighbors to celebrate this once in a lifetime occasion?” Aaron directed the question towards his twin,Adrian.

“Not sure about that,Ron.Mom's gonna kill us if she finds out that we took out the cymbals from the storeroom,” Adrian answered worriedly, fixing his gaze solely upon the door just to make sure their mom doesn't barge into the room unexpectedly.

“Dani, what's that in your hand?Looks like a piece of glass.Don't tell me it's another one of your glass paintings.I really love all of your glass paintings but seriously, your obsession over it is just too indescribable.I wonder where you got that trait from,” Aaron wandered around Danielle's room as his eyes caught the piece of glass clutched into her hands in a death grip.

“Can I have a look at it?” Adrian requested,as he approached towards Danielle asking her for the glass painting that she just completed moments ago before they came into her room.

Danielle looked up at her brother and gave the glass to him just to see his eyebrows scrunch up in total confusion.

“Why does the person, well, most of them sitting over here looks vaguely familiar to me?Have we seen them anywhere or is it just one of your imagination?” Adrian questioned, pointing towards the king and queen's throne, along with the princes and princess.
