Isaac's POV
Walking away from her felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. I felt like I needed to be by her at all times, to protect her and help her. It was weird. This feeling. I knew Scott was probably beyond pissed with me. Especially when the twins saw everything that happened this morning. I needed to know what was going on with me. I was still slightly new to everything, so maybe Derek can answer some of my questions.
After hopping on my motocycle, I heard the enigine roar as I pulled out of the parking lot. They should really have better security for kids who skip. Not that they'll be able to stop me.
As I sped down the street, I couldn't help but think about Harley. Her smile, the way she can light up a room. But thinking of that made me think of all the lustful stares different boys had given her when she walked into class. I turned the throttle harder, speeding in anger.
I made it to Derek's place in less than 15 minutes because of the speed I was going at. I ran into his apartment, opening the door. I saw him on the steps, coming down.
"Why aren't you at school, Isaac?" he scolded me.
"I had to talk to you," I stated, walking over to his desk.
"I let you go back to school and you begin to skip already?" He said walking behind his desk. I put my hands face down on the desk, leaning foward.
"Have you met Harley yet?" I asked, ignoring his question. He looked at me, confusion all over his face.
"I met her last summer. Why?" he asked.
"There's something about her. I-"
"You can't. It's dangerous. And even if it wasn't, Scott would kill you," he said, already knowing what I was going to say.
"You don't understand. It's like I can't be without her," I said, trying to get him to understand.
"I don't care. You can't. I know you're probably attracted to her, but you'll get over it," he said, brushing it off as it was nothing.
"Derek, when I was leaving, I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. I felt like I had to stay and protect her. I've never felt like that before," I said, starting to pace across the room.
"I touched her and I felt so many sparks, I thought it was the fourth of July. And, when I saw Stiles hugging her, I wanted to rip his throat out. I kept saying, 'Mine.' I don't understand any of theses feelings." I ran my hand through my hair before letting out a sigh.
"Looks like Isaac's a lucky one," someone said from behind us. We both turned to see Peter at the doorway.
"Lucky one?" I asked, turning to face him. He began to walk towards us, before taking a seat on the couch.
"I mean, I haven't heard anyone was blessed with by with a mate for over a century. It's quite amazing, actually," he stated, kicking feet up and crossing his arms across his chest.
"Mate?" I asked. He nodded his head and let out a long yawn. He acts like we're talking about the weather.
"Yup. It's a short term for Soul mate. Last person with a mate was over a century ago."
"I still don't understand," I said, genuinely confused. He sighed.
"Your soul mate is your second half. The person you're meant to be with. You'll do anything for your soul mate. And it sounds like you have all the, um, symptoms of a soul mate," he said, not knowing what word to say.
"But there's one thing I need to ask you. Did you feel like biting her when you met her?" He asked. I looked at him like he was crazy.
"Excuse me?" I asked, somewhat offended.
