Amirah's POV
"And we have won the game!!" The boys started yelling as we got ready to head onto the bus to head home.
Oh I love being a cheerleader. Even thought I've been cheering since 6th grade it was still a surprise for me, and being cheer captain of the Varsity cheer team as a 10th grader is the greatest thing on the planet.
"Hey Amirah", May days running up to me in a huge hug. May is one of the coolest girls on the planet and also happens to be my best friend and flyer.
" Hey May" There isn't as much joy in my voice unlike hers. May and I have know each other since kindergarten and have been there for each other ever since. When my parent divorced each other about 5 years ago it took a toll on me, but she was there for me.
"So what's the plan for today?"
" What do you mean?"I was honestly confused. She and I usually don't do stuff after the game other than go out to eat with the team and go to one of our houses.
"Well silly it is your birthday after all" she say. " We have to do something you are the big 16."
"Well since ma checked me out in enough time for me to get my license and come back I really don't think there's much for me to do. Plus there isn't much to do." Yes my birthday is today, but I don't want to do anything big for it. Well not today.
"Well I'm taking you out if you want to or not." She glares at me it wasn't a normal just come on it'll be fun glare, bit it was an I dare you to question me glare. I sighed and nodded my head in defeat. "Yay now when we get back to town you are coming to my house.
"Okay"

Strangely enough we get home at 9ish which it really strangle. We usually don't get home till later than this, but I'm not complaining.
I get off the bus expecting to see my mom there, but then remembered I'm going to Mays. We get in her car and she drives us home.
We walking the house and in unison yell "Ma we're home!!" We laugh at what we said. Soon after mom comes in the living room. She's in a short red dress with black flats.
"Mom where are you off to?" I ask. Considering the fact the only thing keeping May and myself from being twin sister is her birthday is 3 days before mine and we don't have the same parents it was completely cool for me to call her mom mom and her to call mine mom.
"Well if you must know my nosey child I have a dinner date."
May's dad passed away a year ago in a car accident. It took a tool on all of us. When my parents got divorced he stepped in as my father figure, and I love every minute of it. It took time to get use to not having him around for every daddy daughter thing, but May and I use that to make him even more proud of us every day.
He was also there for my mom. He was a lawyer, and helped my mom keep her right for me. When my parents got divorced my brother moved in with my dad. Him and I still talk via kik, ooVoo, Snapchat, and stuff like that, but it's not the same. On the other hand though my dad acts like I don't even have his DNA running through my blood. I speak with him once a year that would be today my birthday, but I haven't gotten my call, but hey what can you expect from the man who doesn't even care about you anymore.
"Really? Is it with that guy from the office you were talking about?" Ma looks at us and smiles a big beautiful smile. We hug her and told her we loved her as she went on her way.
"Go upstairs and shower and get changed." May commanded for me to do. I walk upstairs to the shower. And got washed. I come into my room and there is clothes laid on the bed. A black and white dress with black flats. I got dressed and a while later May comes in showered and ready to go.
