"What are you doing up?"
I whirled around.
"I could ask you the same thing, Princess Elizabeth." I replied evenly.
The young woman frowned at me, her eyes darting up to my ear where there was undoubtedly a still-bleeding gash.
"Did you trip or something?" She murmured.
"Or something." I replied carelessly. Ripping off the bottom of my nightshirt to wrap up my ear.
"Are you okay?" The Princess persisted, her tone marked with worry.
"I'll be just fine, go back to bed. What are you doing up anyway?" I asked.
"I couldn't sleep." She answered.
"You and me both. Hey, how about we take a walk? It'd definitely settle my nerves a bit." I offered, my own kindness taking me by surprise.
"Uhm, sure!"
---
"So you know Sir Meliodas?"
I was beginning to regret my idea of walking with Princess Elizabeth. She was incessantly going on about something or other. I was only half listen, on full alert in case something undesirable popped up from the forest.
"Yeah, bit of a long story. An entertaining one, albeit, but not my story to tell. Maybe Meliodas will tell you someday." I mumbled. Something was nearby.
"So what exactly are Skin-Walkers, Lady Raynuh?"
"A race of humanoids that can take the shape of any creature to ever exist. More talented Skin-Walkers can even make themselves look like other people, and also acquire their memories. There are only a couple of us left, and I happen to be the last of the royal line." Whatever was out there was getting closer, and I did not like it.
"That's amazing! How did you know Sir Ban, back at Baste Prison?"
"Listen, Princess, now it's really the - MOVE!" I shoved the woman out of the way, taking a heavy blow to the chest.
The force knocked me off my feet, as well as expelled the air from my lungs. The Princess was on the ground in shock, but effectively out of harm's way.
Before me stood a peculiar creature resembling a giant lizard. I'd seen such a thing only once before, when one had attacked my home village when I was merely a child. We called them Monitora. What was one doing so far away from my homeland?
Monitora were incredibly vicious, and would attack, even unprovoked. A traveller that wandered into one's territory would have quite a situation on their hands.
"Princess, go back to the Boar Hat!" I commanded, preparing to face off with this Monitora.
"I'll get help!" She shouted, scrambling to her feet and dashing into the woods.
The monster began to chase after her, but I quickly directed it's attention back to me with a shrill whistle. Its beady eyes locked onto me, its scaly tail whipping back and forth.
I could feel my senses heightening, and my eyesight become sharper, more defined. My canines grew into points and I fell onto all four limbs, sprouting fur and even a tail. Within moments, a tall, ferocious wolf stood where I once did.
Now, if there's one thing that will trigger an attack from a Monitora, it's a Skin-Walker.
The beast let out an unearthly screech and darted forward. My last thought before being tackled down was simply "I'm screwed."

You have my express permission to form an angry mob and throw stones at me until I'm no longer breathing. Five months?! Are you kidding me?! So yeah, I know, I'm a horrible author. This is a horrible chapter and it's super short. But I'm have good news! A second season of Seven Deadly Sins is soon going to be available on Netflix! That means I get to watch more and essentially get back into the show. Again. Anyway, next chapter is in the works, and I SWEAR I will not take five months this time. See you later, Lovelies~! R. Z.
