Carter 2

Everyone is trying to enjoy dinner it's very quite, Carter breaks the silence "How's the chicken taste?" He ask trying to make conversation. No answers him, "I am not talking to myself" he says. "Its good papi" Onika tells him as she smiling at him.

3 hours later

Carter is in his bedroom in his shower & all he can think about his children, his late wife then he remembered about those pictures he stashed away in the closet he rushes his shower as he dries his body he walks into his bedroom.

Without wearing a shirt, he goes downstairs & into the kitchen he grabs the box rushing upstairs his son stops him "What you got there pop?" He asks "Nothing, just some old stuff why you up take ya self to bed you school in the morning" he tells him as he goes into his bedroom.

20 minutes later

Carter is sitting on the bed with all the pictures flipped on the back all of the picture create one big picture Carter just had to figure out what the entire big picture is.

He tries to put together some pictures but he can't understand what its trying make out.

Sitting on his bed for hours it's 4:33 in the morning he hasn't stopped looking at them but he notices something on one of them.

He grabs as he exams the photo he sees Onika's wedding ring then he looks at the other photos he places them together & he begins to make a picture of them.

He covers his face as the warm tears begin go down his face.

The next morning Carter seems really outta of it Onika walks to him "Papi are you ok?" She asks him "I'm fine" he tells her as he goes back up stairs "Carter there's something up with papi?" Telling her brother with a worry look on his face "What's wrong with him?" He asks her as he eats his breakfast "I don't know but I think it's up in his room".

Their homeschool teacher arrives to their as they both attended homeschool, Carter is trying not to fall sleep when he notices his father is leaving the house wearing his all black timberlands matching everything he had on, he gets up walking over to him "Pop where you going dressed like that?" Questioning him "I'll be back don't worry about it go back go class" he laughs "Pops come on where you going she isn't interesting she's boring as shit" he complains.

"I don't care get that ass back into living room I'll be back watch ya sister" he tells him in his stern voice.

He walks out the door, Carter has the most respect for his father but when it came down to his business he would always get shut out. Carter wants to be everything that his father is & knows that's every big shoes to fill but he will do anything to be in his position.

He walks back into the living & attends the rest of his schooling.

2 hours later

Onika is doing her homework, while Carter is in his room playing his ps4, he pauses his game he goes into his bathroom when he notices a box next to his father's bed filled with picture "Yo Nika!" He yells out "What! I'm doing my homework" she yells back "I think you wanna see this......" He suggests, she puts everything down & goes to her brother "This better be good I got homework to finish downstairs" she tells him as she folds her arms across her chest.

He goes into his bedroom dumps the picture on his bed "It's a bunch of picture of us, mom & pops" he tells her as he looks at them "Wait Carter there's something on the back of them" she tells him as she flips them around she was good at solving puzzles "It's a picture of a woman" she tells him as she puts them in the correct order.

They both gasp.

"It's mom".

"She looks like she is in a hospital room" she tells him "I have never seen this before look at the top this was taken 4 weeks after mom was buried" he tells her as he looks at her "That's not possible...." She says as she tries to figure out what hospital was this picture was taken.

"Somewhere... Our mother is alive we gotta tell pops about this..." But before they can put the photos away & back into Carter's room he is standing behind them both with a serious face & his arms folded.
