I slowly regained consciousness. I stared at a blank, gray face that was staring back. I startled and rolled away and stood up, drawing my glaive. "Are you a knight?" The owner of the face asked. I let my eyes scan the creature. Gaunt, grey skin, white eyes, no lips, no nose. Looked like a normal doppelganger. An adolescent, true, but still a doppelganger

Until I looked better. She had grey, scaly wings projecting from his back. A mask like an Ethergaunts was folded back to the sides of her face. From the looks of it, the mask covers only the mouth- and nose regions. A suit of studded leather covered her torso and legs. "Hello!", she said, "I am Mira, a nomadic planar doppelganger. You gave us-me quite a shock. You have been out for weeks-" "HOW LONG?" "Take it easy. You are still healing." "Okay..." "So... Who are you?" I tried to pull myself up before speaking my name, full of pride "David D' Dragonsbane, Survivor of the Great Scourge, at your service." Mira drew back with a hiss. "Don't commit blasphemy while under my care." I tilted my head to the side like a confused puppy, causing Mira to smile. "What do you mean 'blasphemy'?" "You must come from far. Our chief deity is called Dragonsbane." "That's... odd?" "Anyway, where do you come from?" "Well, I currently am based on the Material plane" "So far?! No wonder you slept so long. You came like a falling star. Just... after..." she started crying. "Ther there. Just take me to your home so I can discuss my problems with your shaman." she burst out in tears. "They're all dead. My whole village is dead!" Oops...
