Chapter Five | Meeting Emily

In the car ride, Landon can't stop talking about his life when he was in Oregon. It didn't feel annoying though because I've missed him and now he is here and listening to his talks makes me feel at ease.

"Remember that people called you school sweetheart?" Landon said and I instantly choked the air.

"Oh god, I hate it," I said and he laughed.

"They never know until now that you're too far from that call and Al- are we there yet?" Landon changed the topic once he was about to say Alex's name. I know that since that day, Landon stopped saying his name and none in the house dared to say his name in front of me. I don't know why but I feel happy that they didn't brought up about him anymore until now.

I know that Landon and mum stopped saying his name because they're afraid that I will be sad about it because we were best friends and because of the night that he said he wasn't ready to be in relationship after he broke up with Emily, we weren't closed anymore until now.

"Oh-uh, just another block," I said and he nodded. After that, we both were silence until Taylor pulled off over the driveway in front of my coffee shop.

"We're here," Taylor informed and I nodded before hopping off from the car, followed by Landon.

"You can come in too if you want Taylor," I said to Taylor and he just nodded curtly at me. He cut off the engine and followed behind us. I stepped inside the coffee shop and Emma beamed once she saw me.

"Dee, oh God are you okay? I thought you're mad at me because I brought up about him this morning so I tried to call you and failed so I called your office and Del said you went out," Emma said worriedly and I chuckled.

"It's okay Em, I'm fine. I'm here with Landon anyway," I said and Emma's head automatically jerked up to see Landon.

"Hey Landon, changed your hair color again?" Em asked and Landon nodded.

"Hey Em," Landon greeted.

"Come on, have a seat, and you too Taylor. You can sit everywhere you want," Emma said before she walking off to other costumers.

I sat at the corner of the coffee shop with Landon while Taylor chose to seat a little further than us and started to read newspaper. All girls were staring at us, well not really us, just Landon. They were practically staring and drooling over him but Landon was just staring at his phone screen.

"You're going to New York next month?" Landon asked after awhile.

"Yeah, for the fashion week," I said and he nodded.

"I thought you're going to send June as usual," he said and I sighed.

"It's just this one project really caught my attention at the show and I need to be there to know what is it about, anyway I'll send June to Milan for checking the selling chart of the couture next month too," I explained before Emma came and sat in between Landon and I.

"I forgot to tell you that someone came here and asking for you after you left," Emma said and I looked at her in confusion.

"Who was looking for me?" I asked.

"I don't know but she said that she was from your high school," Em said.

"High school?" I asked. Who was from high school wanted to see me? It has been seven years since I met all of my friends from high school. Emma served us Rendezvous Mochappuccino that I've created, symbolised my coffee shop.

After having a little talk with Emma and Landon, the bell of the shop rang, telling us there's a new costumer coming in. My head jerked up to the entrance glass door and I saw a woman with a little girl beside her strolling inside the cafe.
