My alarm went off on it's shrill sound. I turn it off and get out of bed. After I go into my bathroom, take my shower, and get dressed, I go over to my sink to brush my teeth. When I looked into the mirror, I couldn't see myself in it. "Weird," I say to myself out loud. I turned on the cold water and rinsed my face. When I looked back into the mirror, I could see myself in it. I thought that must've just been a trick of the light, so I went to work. When I got to my level and stepped out of the elevator into a level full of journalists, everyone saw me and started clapping and giving me words of congratulations. My boss came up to me and said, "Well done Rye Miller. Your article was stellar. It was by far the best one you've ever written." I didn't recall writing an article. But I didn't tell her that. I looked around the room and saw Astra looking at me with a guilty look on her face. Suddenly I knew who actually wrote that article. I started walking over to her when someone stepped into my path. I dropped the attention that I'd had on my sister only moments ago to look at whoever dared to block my path. "Hello Rye." Holy shit! It was Kate Smith! "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me," I said to her. "Of course," she said. "Pick me up at 8:00 p.m." "Naturally," I said. "If you'll excuse me, I'll be back in a moment." "Of course," she said kindly to me. I quickly walked to the bathroom. Once I was in there, I looked around to make sure no one else was in there. I went to lock the door, but my hand passed right through. I tried again, and successfully locked the door. I tried to walk over to one of the stalls, but I realized I wasn't walking, I was floating. I leaned forward and flew around the bathroom... literally.
