Iris sat in her room with Sprayberry and Khylin. "Are you nervous?" Khylin asked. Iris nodded, "I have butterflies in my stomach and I don't even know if there from being nervous or excited."

"You be fine. Ryan really like you." Sprayberry added. Iris blushed as she got up from her bed and began to rummage through her closet. She huffed in defeat, "What's wrong?" Khylin asked. "Isn't it obvious? She has nothing to wear." Dylan said.

Khylin send Dylan weird look. "What? I have a sister! Then we go shopping cause apparently no matter how much clothes she has nothing is good enough." Iris grabbed Dylan's head and kissed his forehead. "Oh my god your a genius. Come on kids we're going shopping."

Tyler watched the clock. It was already seven and Ryan still hadn't arrived to pick up Iris. "Dude he's going to come. Sit down! Iris isn't even done getting ready." Sprayberry said. Just as Tyler was going to sit down  the door bell rang. Tyler went to answer but was surprised to see it wasn't Ryan. "Dyl did you ordered pizza?" Tyler asked.

"I did" Khylin yelled from the kitchen. Tyler quickly paid the delivery boy and brought the pizzas inside.  "What's taking Ryan so long?" Tyler sighed. "Dude its Los Angeles there's traffic. I swear your acting like he's dating you." Khylin said.

Once again the door bell rang, Tyler got up from his spot and opened the front door. In the doorway stood a very nervous Ryan. He held white roses, Iris' favorite. Tyler looked at the clock, 7:05. "Your late!"

"Sorry there was a lot of traffic." Ryan lied. Truth was he had arrived on time but was to nervous to get out of his car. "Mom! Ryan's here!!" Sprayberry yelled. The sound of heels echoed through the house. Once she was in front of the boys she asked, "How do I look?"
Iris pushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she waited for a response.

The boys were speechless. "Do I look that bad? I am going to change." Iris said as she turned around. "No!" The boys yelled in unison. Iris smiled walked over to Tyler and Ryan.

"Iris you look..." Ryan stopped trying to find the perfect word to describe his date.  "Gorgeous?" Dylan asked as he tried to help Ryan. "Beautiful?" Khylin asked. Ryan smiled and nodded. He stretched out his hand and took Iris' hand.

"You look like a princess, my princess. These are for you." Iris blushed and took the bouquet. "Their beautiful. Let me go put these in water and then we can head out." Iris said as she let go of Ryan's hand. Iris made her way to the kitchen. "Bring our mom home safely." Dylan said.

"Take good care of Iris. Hurt her and I'll bury you. Got it?" Tyler threatened. Ryan nodded, "Oh and almost forgot please use a condom we don't need a baby running around this house."
Ryan face burned red, "Tyler!! Stop your going to scare him away!"

Iris ran into the living room and took Ryan's hand. "Let's go please." Iris begged. "I'll see you guys later." She blew the boys kisses and pushed Ryan put the door. Ryan had a chance to wave goodbye before the door shut close. "I am sorry about Tyler. He gets a little over protective." Iris said as they walked to the car. "Don't worry about it, he means well."

🔹

Ryan and Iris walked on the beach. Iris had her heels in hand. "So a walk on the beach?" Iris asked. Ryan shrugged, "I saw it in a movie and I thought it was perfect."

Iris giggled, "Ry you just keep getting cornier and cornier." Iris set her heel in the sand and grabbed Ryan's hand. "Come on we can't come to the beach and not go in the water."

Ryan chuckled, "I don't think going in the water is a good idea. We still have to get to the restaurant." Iris turned to look at Ryan with pleading eyes. "Fine. Let's go to the water."

Before going into the water Ryan rolled up his jeans and took of his shoes and socks. Ryan set his show next to Iris'. Iris let go of Ryan's hand and ran to the water. She looked the beach, everything about. The beach was the place where she felt human. Not that she didn't feel like that everyday. But sometimes life was life meaning it was hard. And being on the beach staring at the waves and sun reminded Iris she was only another human and this planet, another life and story. As she stepped into the water and felt the once soft sand become squishy under her feet she wrapped her arms around herself.

Her eyes stared at the sunset. No words could describe how at peace she felt in that very moment. Ryan walked to her and wrapped his arms around her. Iris smiled as a small wave of water rushed towards them. The brunette untangled herself from Ryan's hold. She walked further into the water and reached down. She splashed some water Ryan's way.

Ryan smirked. Iris saw him reach down. "Ry don't do it. I look way to cute. Do not ruin it." She begged. Ryan threw water at her. She squealed and splashed more water towards him. Ryan ran towards her. Iris giggled as she ran out of the water and to her shoes. Ryan ran after and in the process fell face first into the water.

Iris snickered at Ryan's incident. She tried to contain her laugh but she couldn't do it. Ryan sat up on his knees and cleaned away the sand on face. "That was.." Iris tried saying but she couldn't stop laughing.

Ryan smirked and got up to his feet. He opened his arms, "Gimme a hug" Iris shook her head and took a step back. "Come on babe." Ryan begged as he walked towards Iris. Iris began to run down the beach. Ryan after her. He finally reached her and picked her up. She realized a loud laugh. "Put me down." She begged.

Ryan obeyed and set her down. The brunette turned to look at him and slapped him playfully. "That so unfair, I am out of shape." Ryan looked into her eyes. In matter of seconds he realized he was falling in love with a girl he meet over text.

He slowly began to lean in and he hoped Iris wouldn't reject him. But truth was Iris was hoping for the same thing. It was insane to think that they had been set up.

Finally the gap that had once separated them disappeared. Their lips meant and it was by far the most amazing feeling ever. It was like they were the perfect song. Iris pulled away and bit her lip. She looked up at Ryan, "Best date ever."

🔹

Ryan and Iris stood outside of Iris' shared house. Ryan arms wrapped around Iris' waist. Dinner had been a fail because they never made it to the restaurant. Their clothes smelt of ocean and sand.

Iris wrapped her arms around Ryan's neck. "Sorry we never got to have dinner." Ryan said. "Hey don't apologize. I had a really good time. You took me to my favorite place, the beach. Best date ever."

The porch light turned on. "I should get inside Tyler comes out and decides to play the father role. He might play a werewolf but dad is so not a good look." Iris joked.

Ryan chuckled, "We still on for tomorrow's hike?" "Yeah definitely. Bring extra clothes, after the run you can shower here and then we'll grab some breakfast before work." Ryan smiled and nodded. He leaned in for a kiss goodnight but Tyler opened the door.

Iris quickly pressed a chaste kiss to Ryan's lip. "I'll see you tomorrow." Iris ran inside. "I expect you tried her right." Tyler began. "Tyler your not my dad. Say goodnight and close the door." Iris yelled from the door.

Tyler chuckled, "I am not scared of you." "Oh really. I'll just start a fire with you blink 182 CDs." "Goodnight Ryan." Tyler said before slamming the door.
