Beth's pov

I woke up and remembered that Nicole had just moved in.  There was some noise from downstairs, I shot up, and tapped on David's shoulder. "David," I whispered, horrified, "There's someone downstairs." He slowly woke up and mumbled something about going back to sleep. "Fine then," I said, "I'll just check it myself." I opened the bedroom door, slowly, hoping if wouldn't make a creak. I held the door open the least I could, and slipped out. I couldn't see anyone from there. I quickly moved to the first step, drawing my foot back from the second when it creaked. I peered downstairs, there was someone in the kitchen. I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Oh, Nicole. It's just you." I said calming down.

"Yeah. I decided to make you guys breakfast since you've shown me hospitality. I hope you don't mind me using your stuff." She said, ladling some waffle mix into the griddle.

"Oh no, it's fine Nicole. I just didn't expect anyone to be up this early.  They do look delicious though, thank you."

She handed me a plate with two waffles, "They're still warm. So eat fast."

"What's going on here?" A confused Lou said, stumbling into the kitchen, "Auntie Nicole. What are you doing here?"

"Auntie Nicole's going to live here for a while," I started.

"Because my landlord kicked me out." Nicole finished.

"Oh okay. Are these for me?" Lou asked, showing more interest in the waffles than the current situation.
