PROLOG.

Waking up on a beautiful morning, with sun beaming through the curtains and to the relaxing sound of birds singing doesn't usually happen in England, but today is different. Today was exactly that, and as I lay there snuggled in my duvet with my head sinking into the pillows, something didn't seem right. It was as if I could see myself, like I was looking down on myself. I slowly stepped out of my bed, one foot at a time, and suddenly got an extreme anxious feeling my chest like my heart was going to explode. Cautiously, I crept up to the curtains ready to drag them open hoping to reveal nothing. My heart pounding more and more, I felt like I was telling myself not to open the curtains, but I couldn't be, could I? Something or someone was telling me no, I felt like it was myself but surely not, theres only one of me, right? Getting closer and closer, I had my trembling fingers on the edge of the curtains ready to pull them open, so that's what I did. I screamed as loud as I could, but it was as if no one could hear me, like I couldn't scream loud enough, everyone was laughing, why are they laughing!? Outside my bedroom window was my Dad, hanging, no life in him at all and everyone is laughing at me, why is nobody taking this seriously?

"Lucy, Lucy, wake up, what's wrong?" said my Mum, looking worried. "I had a nightmare, I'm fine it's nothing, honestly". Nothing like my dream, I awoke that morning on a black leather sofa, with my Mum and Brother on a dark blue airbed on the living room wooden floor with children and toys playing noisely on the second floor. That stuck with me all day, it was if it was real, why am I having these nightmares? Either way I had to let it go, I had to go to school considering I had my exams that week, not just any exams of course, my GCSEs. With enough on my mind as it was, I headed of to school.

My name is Lucy Carter, no one special, just me. I don't live in a big house full of luxuries, I live on a council estate in a normal 3 bedroomed house with my family, the family being my Mum, Dad, Brother and two dogs. We're just any normal family that you'd find on any normal street, atleast that's what I thought.
