Fallon runs down the path and Valery smiles running to follow.

“Fallon wait up!” she calls he laughs stopping for her he lets her breath.

“Valery I have a question.” she smiles nodding for him to go on.

“Do you think Alair will come back?” her heart hurts for him, he looks at the ground suddenly very sad.

“Of course she would never leave you.” Valery reassures him and he shakes his head.

“That’s not what I meant, I know she won’t leave me, but there are bad people are after her. They are trying to hurt her…” his voice fades off. But Valery grabs his hand.

“I know, but I don’t think any force on earth could keep Kole from protecting her.” he furrows his brows.

“Why does he protect her?” Valery laughs at his curiosity.

“You are just full of questions.” she turns to go back to the house noticing the sky getting darker. She turns and standing in middle of the trail is Jasmine, her hair long and bright orange.

“I have a few questions too if you don’t mind.” Valery instantly has Fallon behind her standing protectively in front of him.

“Awe he is so cute, I can’t hear his little heart racing from here.” he grabs Valery’s leg.

“Get out of here, or-” Jasmine cuts her off smiling.

“**** can’t save you now, we took care of him.” Valery’s grab on Fallon tightens and rage grows in her stomach.

“What the hell did you do to my fiance?” Jasmines grin gets wider.

“We will take good care of him, but for now, we need you. And don’t think about shifting, we know your little secret.” Valery’s heart jumps as all the color drains from her face, the thinks they will do to her now they know.

It has been over an hour since Valery went out and Alex grows worried, he knows he has been acting very unusual lately even before his brother woke up from his slumber. He goes out on the front porch and looks out for her, for some reason he cant feel the bond between them. He tries not to worry too much because she get annoyed when he does.

She is a dragon too, but with everything going on her can’t help but being extra concerned. His dragon is restless beneath his skin.

He pulls on their connection to call her but there is no answer, she must be very distracted with Fallon. But he goes and grabs his phone to call just in case.

He dails her number and calls, it rings twice when it is abruptly hung up. He looks at the phone, now he knows for sure something is wrong now. Turning there is a sudden pinch, he immediately grabs his shoulder and pulls out a small dart. He turns and Thomas stands in the doorway, he immediately charges before he loses all his strength but it is too late.

He collapses to his knees at Thomas’s feet.

“What did you do to my mate?” Alex is barely able to speak the effects of the dart rush on his senses.

“You know that’s funny because,” he squats down to his level. “She asked the same question.” he tries to lunge but he falls to the ground completely unconscious.

Thomas walks over him taking an apple on his way out.
