Luxsidus

Chapter 1

I woke up knowing that they had had found me again. I had to move fast. I had five minutes tops before they caught me. I grabbed what little belongings I had and stuffed them all in my backpack. I moved the chair under the doorknob right before they started banging on the door.

I ran to the window and opened it, wishing that I could've gotten a room on the first floor. I knew the door wouldn't hold them off for long so I turned to the window and got ready to jump. When I heard the door burst open I turned to see at least five of them, their eyes blazing with rage.

I turned back toward the window and jumped out of my third floor room. Knowing that I wouldn't get hurt from the jump, I landed and took off at a run. I could hear them yelling after me but I was too preoccupied. When I finally thought I was in the clear, I slowed to a walk.

Since it was still pretty early in the morning, there weren't many people out. I kept walking down the street looking for a car to hot wire. Just when I turned the corner, two of them came out of nowhere and pulled me into the closest alley.

One had his hand over my mouth but I didn't scream for help because I didn't want to get any civilians hurt. I let them drag me down the alley a little ways before I fought back.

I pulled my head forward then threw it back successfully head butting the guy holding me. He let go of me to grab his now broken and bleeding nose. I turned as the other one came at me and punched him which didn't seem to affect him at all. So I went to plan B and kicked him in the nuts. That had the intended effect and brought him to his knees.

I lifted my hand as it turned into the glowing light of energy that all Luxsidus are made of. I aimed the energy right at his chest and let it loose. As it consumed him, he could no longer hold onto his form and turned into his true form.

In the next moment, a shadow as black as night was on the ground in front of me. I could see the other guy coming at me from the side. I turned my other hand into light and hit him in the chest with it.

After one final burst into each of their chests, they were gone. Consumed by my light and I knew those two wouldn't be back to bother me. But of course when I turned around to leave the alley, the five that I had ditched earlier had evidently found me. FML.

I stood there waiting for them to come at me but none of them moved. They aren't even looking at me. Why aren't they looking at me if I was the one they're here for? Is there something behind me?

I turn around to see the four people that I never thought I'd see again. There stood the four very hot Blackwood brothers. They're quadruplets but they all have certain attributes that set them apart.

I haven't seen them in two years and if I thought they were hot then, then they look like gods now. Kyzick has blonde hair and green eyes, Brayden has black hair and brown eyes, Braxton has brown hair and brown eyes, and last but not least, Aidan who has dirty blonde hair and ice blue eyes.

"Shit!" I said under my breath.

"Well that's no way to greet your saviors babe." Kyzick said. The rest of them chuckled and nodded their heads in agreement.

"Well I didn't ask to be saved because I'm not in any trouble that I can't handle." I replied smoothly.

"You know we should really move this along and get back to the Covenant." Aidan said.

"Well it's not like I'm stopping you. Let's do this so I can be on my way and you guys can get back to the Covenant." I said to them.

"Oh no sweetheart! You're coming back with us." Brayden said to me, walking closer so we were only inches apart. Kyzick came to stand next to him and whispered in my ear.

"We need you to come back with us babe. The Covenant is in trouble and we need your help to save it. Plus, it's been way too long since we've seen you babe and we miss you." He said.

I shivered from the closeness of them both and the feel of Kyzick's breath on my neck. These guys were so bad for my health but they were so addicting at the same time. It had been a hard decision to leave them in the first place but now that they were here I'm not sure if I'll be able to leave them again.

They had been my best friends before I left. They had helped me adjust to being a Luxsidus when I was first turned. They helped me control my energy so I wouldn't hurt myself or anybody else. They had always been there for me and then I left and never told them why.

Usually Luxsidus are born but I was an exception. I was the unheard of anomaly. No one had ever heard of a Luxsidus being made until about five years ago when three Noxsomnus, the shadow men, attacked me while I was walking home that night. That was when four glowing forms of light came in and rescued me.

When they were fighting off the Noxsomnus, one of them grabbed me, using me as a human shield, as four bursts of light were going to hit him. Instead they hit me and I don't remember what happened after that because I blacked out.

I woke up a week later in the Covenant and I was told that when I got hit by the combined energy of the four Blackwood brothers it changed my genetic makeup and turned me into a Luxsidus.

The boys took it upon themselves to help me out with the transition into my new life and became my best friends along the way. We used to do everything together, but I guess I ruined that by leaving without an explanation.

Brayden brought me back from my thoughts when he said, "Let's kick some ass guys!"

I took a step forward but an arm snaked around my waist and pulled me back. I turned my head and saw that Kyzick was the one that grabbed me. "Let us handle this babe." He said to me and kissed me on the cheek.

I opened my mouth to ask why he kissed my cheek but it was like he read my mind because he said, "It was a good luck kiss." He smiled and turned to face the Noxsomnus.

I'm not usually one to let people fight my battles but with the little sleep I got last night and taking out two of those assholes by myself made me a little tired. So I stood back and let them do their thing. They made quick work of the five Noxsomnus and I noticed just how skilled they were in their fighting.

Every move they made was smooth and purposeful. To be completely honest, it was really hot with the way they were kicking ass so easily.

When they were done, they all walked back over to me. "It's time to come back to the Covenant with us, princess." Braxton said.

I didn't completely like the idea of going back but if the people there were in trouble then I had to help. I mean they were basically my family for three years.

"Ok fine, I'll come back." I said resigned. I wasn't expecting for them to be so happy about it but they all took turns giving me big bear hugs.

They were smiling and joking around the whole way back to the Covenant and I have to admit that I have really missed being around them. It sure has been a long two years without having them around to help me when I needed it.

When we got to the Covenant, I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves before I went in to the last place I called home. When I walked in everyone stopped and looked my way, surprised to see me back there.

"Welcome back to the Covenant, Emersyn."
