I tapped the pencil on the corner of my desk, bouncing my leg in rhythm. Some kid in front of me turned to glare.

I tapped my pencil a bit harder.

More glare.

"Whomever is tapping their pencil, stop!" barked the old English teacher.

I stopped letting out a sigh. I looked back down at my test and glanced over the cluster of words. Most of them were just incomprehensible to me. It's one of those days where I just cannot focus.

Question 8: Place commas in the necessary places in the sentence.

"Hello" Maria spoke "what should we do?"

Really? AP Lit and this is what we are doing?

I quickly finished the test meant for a third grader and flipped the packet over.

I began tracing the graffiti on the desk, random shapes, vulgar words, or little notes put by others sitting where I do.

Hello

I gave the word a strange look, not that that is very helpful considering its just a word. Okay, I'll bite.

Hi

Whatever, probably some dumb kid just going to write penis back or something.

The bell rung and our class was dismissed.
