"Look, the princess awakens." Evan's dad spoke.
We all looked to the balcony-esque railing to see Evan waving his hand slowly and blowing kisses. He even lifted a dainty leg. He slowly descended the stair Rayne and I laughing while Cal had a disgruntled look on his face clapping slowly along with us.
Finally he hit ground floor and dusted off his tux. I noticed he and Rayne had matching tie and dress. I glanced at Cal and he had some sort of silky red one. if I asked he would probably say something like, 'Oh no no no, it's embroidered' or something equivalently snobby. I let out a snort at the thought and everyone looked at me. I turned red.
"Alright kiddos, get together."
First we did shots as the girls, then the guys. The boys were awkward to say the least, or at least Cal was. Then me and Rayne put our corsages in the middle, and our 'fellows' as James called them, did the same with their bows. It looked nice.
"Okay, I want some of the best friends, get on in their Natalie."
I looked cautiously to Rayne. She gave me a smirk and gestured me to go ahead. I awkwardly went to Evan and I grabbed me around the waist like the classic prom pose. We took a few like that and then we got silly. I pulled the dress up to show the garter and he pulled his pant leg up. He carried me. I carried him. It was fun.
"Well I think we need to get going. Best not miss the dance." Cal put a fake smile on and pulled me close protectively.
"Um, sure let's go." Rayne saw the awkward situation. After bidding goodbye to James at least ten times, and getting told be safe 20 times, we climbed into the truck, rather uncomfortably and left.
