"[y/n] dear, hurry up, your handsome guest is waiting for you down here," Your Mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs, as she and your friend Logan waited for you in the living room. Logan chuckled lowly to himself.

"Alright mom, in a minute," You shouted back, almost stumbling around in your room as you searched for the dress that would look perfect on you.

Logan had asked you out to watch a movie together, and sure, you couldn't just say no to him. You were dateless, he was dateless, together it was going to be the perfect movie date ever.

As you made your way downstairs, you peeked into the living room, looking for your mom and Logan. Unfortunately your mom spotted your head and called you out. "[y/n], come here! I'm sure you look beautiful in whatever you're wearing."

You gulped, and shyly entered the living room. You weren't able to make eye contact with them, blushing. "I look horrible, I swear."

"No, [y/n], you look beautiful," Logan said, blushing from the moment he realized what came out of his mouth, as your mom glanced at him with a raised brow. He cleared his throat and remained as silent as he was before you entered the room.

The truth; you were overly conscious of your body. Sometimes you think you were getting as thin as a toothpick, or growing fat. It had come to the point where you weren't eating only to keep yourself in good shape. But when you did, you never let the food reach down your throat; you throw them back up and that was it. You would cry a bucket, and you had even tried cutting your wrists. And worse, no body knew. Your family, your friends, no body.

"That was rather a compliment," your mom said, chuckling. She glanced between you and Logan. "Accept it, [y/n.]"

"Mom," You groaned in embarrassment. She'd always tease you and Logan, and you never got used to it. Neither did he.

"I think we'd better be going now," Logan kindly insisted, smiling. He reached his arm out to you, locking your arm with his, and left your house.

You had a great night out with Logan; by far the greatest you'd ever spend with him in your life. He'd chose a romantic-comedy film (both your favorite kind) and you just laughed your hearts out from start to finish. You thought you had consumed more air than the popcorn and iced tea you bought as snacks while watching the movie.

On the way home, in Logan's car, you were quiet. Really quiet. Logan noticed, of course, and he couldn't help but looking at you and on the road every second. "Hey, you alright?"

"Huh?" You turned to him, completely boggled. You nodded, smiling. "Yeah, of course, I'm fine. Don't worry, I'm just tired, but I'm fine."

You reached over for the radio, the sleeve of your cardigan showing a strip of skin of your wrist. Before you could turn it up, Logan stopped you. "Uhm, is there something wrong?"

Logan pulled over, and grabbed your wrist, in horror he stared at your cuts in various sizes. "What the hell is this?"

You tried to take your wrist away from him, but he was too strong. And you were hurt. "Those are nothing, Logan. Please, let go, it hurts."

"What part of this hurts?" Logan stared into your eyes intimidatingly. You were so scared that tears sting out of your eyes all of a sudden. "The way that I'm holding you right now, or the way that you hurt yourself?" His voice, stingy.

"Just let me go, Logan. Please..." You begged as you finally broke down in tears.

Logan did just as what you said so. You could see how hurt he was seeing you doing that kind of thing to yourself. He sighed, shaking his head in disbelief. He turned to you, gone was the intimidating look in his eyes and tone in his voice. Now there was sadness written all over him. "Tell me, why are you doing this to yourself?"

Sobbing, you explained to him everything. Even he broke down in tears as he listened to your heart-breaking stories. "God..." He stared out into the window, drops of rain trickling down the tinted windows.

"I'm so sorry I disappointed you, Logan." You sniffed. "Really, I didn't know what came into me. But every time I do that, I feel better, and it seemed like all the pain is gone with just one cut."

"No, it's not!" Logan said at the top of his voice. "Cutting won't solve anything, [y/n]! Right now I'm so mad at you because I care for you so much and I can't even imagine you'd do this to yourself!"

You cried and cried, feeling all kinds of emotion rolled into one expression. You shouted back rebelliously, "Then if you think you care so much for me, is there something you can do to help?"

As fast as the lightning that struck the night sky outside, Logan's lips were pressed on yours, letting the indescribable feeling seep into both of you. He...kissed you. You were finally kissing him, he was finally kissing you; you were finally kissing each other's lips, something you'd never thought that would happen not even in your wildest imaginations.

Logan pulled away, as tears were still rolling down his cheeks, his thumb ran under your eye to wipe your tears away. "Please, stop doing this to yourself, okay?" He said in a more calm and caring tone. "You are perfect to me. You are beautiful, you understand that?"

"I-I do?" Your voice cracked a little. Earlier you said that cutting made you feel better, but you were able to prove that wrong in this exact moment. Kissing Logan was a whole new experience and...it made you feel much more inspired and made you feel that you were actually loved by a guy you never knew would love you as more than just friends. "I am beautiful?"

"You are beautiful." Logan smiled. You held his hand, the one that was cupping your cheek so lovingly, so warm, it was more than enough to make you feel safe and secure.

"I promise I won't cut myself ever again. For you, Logan."

"That's good." You two shared a chuckle, not keeping your eyes off of each other, not even in a second. "I love you, [y/n]."

"I love you, too, Logan."

The rain outside stopped. You two shared one more passionate kiss before pulling each other into a tight, cozy hug. Life was much better provided with all the love you were getting from Logan, the only one guy you loved in your entire life, and showed you what was your exact purpose in this world...
