"That night someone snuck into Lanaya's home, he didn't steal money, he didn't steal goods, but he did take something important."

It was dark over the land, everyone and everything was sleeping soundly, all except for him. The large Anamoni crept through the house as quietly as possible, he had to find the child.
Maraal was sleeping quietly in a small bed in Lanaya's bedroom, the moni grinned as he noticed the door had been left open, the plan raced through his head again.
"Bring the child to me, wait for the ritual to be completed, then return the child to it's mother, Simple." Was what the Prophecy Keeper had said to him. The grumpy Anamoni shook his head to clear his mind of that creepy voice, he pushed the door open even further and crept into the dark room. Luckily for him he was wearing top of the range night-vision goggles. He straightened up slightly, looking around for the child. Not there, or there... He squinted at one of the corners... there!
He crawled over to the small bed, sneering at the size of the child. He's absolutely tiny! I guess he'll just grow... He grumbled moodily to himself and snatched the small snowy white child from it's bed, it didn't protest, surprisingly.
The moni silently stalked over to the door, slipping through the gap, down the stairs and straight out the door.

The prophecy keeper, also known as keyma was checking the progress of the moons. "Hm, this is perfect, even better than the last one..." She grinned, the tumbling rocks alerted her of the return of her accomplice, she turned to grin at the large moni. "Captain Malor, have you got the child?" Malor nodded, trying to make sure his large ears didn't flap up and down too frantically. Keyma looked down into the captain's arms, staring at the snowy white child. She grasped him by the back legs, lifting him up and staring into his eyes. She walked over to what looked like a well, it was made of cracked stones, they had once been smooth no doubt.
The room shone with a blue gleam, it reflected off the crystals jutting out of the wall, reflecting on every surface giving the illusion of water. Maraal squeaked meekly, squirming in her grip wildly.
"Calm down little one, you should rejoice, the Stars have spoken your name!" She held the tiny creature above the strange liquid contained in the 'well' she laughed slightly as she watched the moon, then, she dropped him in.
Maraal splashed into the black liquid, it was definitely not water, he let out a pitiful cry as he sank below the surface of the foul darkness. Just as the tiny newborn was about to give up squirming, a paw-like hand reached in and pulled him out and flung him back to the ground. Black liquid dribbled out of his mouth, pooling around him, his eyes were shut tight for fear of seeing on darkness once again. Keyma snarled, and looked up at the gap in the stony cavern's roof, a red moon was making it's way to the centre of the hole, she shook the child violently. "Damnit child, open your eyes!" She yelled at him. Maraal couched up more of the ink-like goop and squinted his eyes open. What he opened his eyes to was not darkness, just red.
So much red.
Keyma laughed and threw the shining crystal away, it was done, the transformation was complete.
Captain Malor was fiddling with his freshly torn ear, he had cut it on a jagged stoned urging his hasty entrance of the cave. He now looked over at Keyma uncomfortably, he stared at the blackened, sodden child laying at her feet.
"Wh-what did you do to him!?" He yelled, letting go of his damaged ear and running to the child. The prophecy keeper grinned at him in a way that seemed borderline insane,
"I've helped him on his way, the road to the competition, is a long one." Malor was taken aback, how could she be assuming this child would enter the pit so early!? This was wrong on so many levels, he grabbed the tiny creature and ran as fast and far from the cave as he could, before returning him to his home.
Captain Malor wasn't sure what would become of the newborn when his mother saw him, but he knew it couldn't be any worse than what he had just witnessed.
