Clarke offers Lexa her hand and helps Lexa up. It takes Lexa a while before she dares to look Clarke in the eyes.

Standing there for a moment Clarke breaks the stare that is full of mixed emotions by glancing at Lexa's lips. Missing the human connection and the warmth, the feeling of home Lexa once gave her, she slowly takes a step closer.

Lexa looks at Clarke questionably, her vulnerability still showing in her eyes.  She is taken by surprise when she feels Clarke's soft lips on hers. She closes her eyes fighting the urge to kiss back and pulls away slowly taking a step back.

Clarke frowns worried, immediately regretting what she had done. What if Lexa didn't want this anymore?

Lexa looks down remembering what she did to Clarke at the mountain and the way it had hurt Clarke, driving her unstable. "I'm not worthy of your touch.." she pauses glancing at her "not anymore.." she says swallowing down the lump in her throat looking at the wall behind Clarke.

Clarke's heart aches when she hears those words. She can't believe that this is what Lexa thinks. She puts her hand on Lexa's cheek and turns her head gently so she is looking at her in the eyes. "We have all done terrible things Lexa.." she says not knowing where she is really going with this.

Lexa lifts her head up a bit trying to get it together. She would never let anyone touch her like this. Clarke is the only one in years who she has let this close. It's scaring her but she can't run away from the feeling. Her head has told her many times not to let Clarke break down the thick walls she spent years building around her heart and not to get close but her heart broke its walls in a second, giving Clarke a straight path in. Lexa sighs not fighting it anymore and looks at Clarke's beautiful eyes filled with worry, sadness and confusion.

"You promised me you wouldn't betray me again.." she pauses trying not to break down as the memories of the night Lexa left her at the mountain flood back into her mind. "..if you intend to keep your promise, i think we'll be okay." She says running her thumb over Lexa's cheek.

Lexa nods not knowing what to say. She just hopes Clarke knows that at this point she would do anything for her. She would leave her people in a battle if Clarke needed saving. She knows it's wrong for her people but she couldn't live with the thought of Clarke not being safe. This is not about Clarke's people or her own. It's personal. Em ste hodnes.

Lexa puts her hand on Clarke's waist and pulls her in a hug. Feeling Clarke's warm body sink into hers and Clarke's arms wrap around her neck. This is where she wants to be, right here and right now.
