"Oh really?!" Amp is more excited about this new job than I am.
I nod, "Yeah. I'm supposed to show up tomorrow morning at 8 with Nyla."
"But tomorrow is our first day of college." Lisa pouts, "You have to be there Thea!"
"It's only orientation." Jake says, rolling his eyes, "She doesn't need to go. We can both get her stuff."
"But—" Lisa tries to argue.
"No," Dad cuts her off, "Jake is right. You can get her things. This is a great opportunity for Thea. Plus, I haven't heard of Lady Sabrina taking someone in to the shop since I was a kid." Dad smiles at me, "This is going to be great for you."
I grin and nod, "Then it's settled. I go tomorrow."

Nyla's head rises from its resting place on her paws. Her meow sounds more like a purr as the doors ding open.
Cold wind blows on, as does some rain. The rain has started about an hour after I arrived. Lady Sabrina showed me how to work the front counter in the time. How to ring things up, how to package them. She even had made me a cheat sheet on all of the things in the store.
The store was home to mostly old books about ancient lore, some ingredients that Lady Sabrina said was for witches, however, it was mostly an old tourist shop. A lot of the most profitable stuff was upfront. Which included books on the tails of Sleepy Hollow, it's history, t-shirts, and other things tourist shop held.
Nyla had instantly taken to it. Considering there was a corner of the shop with a fire place, a couch, two chairs and a stand, I guess she felt that it was homely. Not that I could blame her. It was only my first day and I absolutely love it here.
"You look like you're enjoying yourself." The deep baritone of the handsome man makes me jump. Sam's eyes smile at me as he removes his gloves, scarf and jacket. A dripping umbrella stands against the wall by the door.
My mouth opens but nothing comes out. A blush spreads across my face as I stare at him. I hadn't seen him in three months. According to Lisa, he'd went to France to see his grandparents.
"Lord Samuel!" Lady Sabrina comes from the back in a flurry. She envelopes the man in her arms and kisses each side of his face.
Did she just call him 'Lord Samuel'?
"Lady Sabrina," Sam smiles warmly at the women.
My heart flutters. I've never seen him make that expression in the short time that I've been here. Plus, he let her touch him. With out pushing her away. Actually, he'd hugged her back.
"You look so well, my Lord." Lady Sabrina's face wrinkles even more as she smiles at him.
"I am well," he says warmly, "thank you."
A purr catches all of our attention. Nyla winds around his feet and rubs herself against him. She wants him to pet her.
"Nyla," I scold, "Leave the man be."
"It's alright, Thea." My heart thumps in my chest as he picks Nyla up and rubs her head. She rubs her face against his and purrs even louder.
Sam's eyes connect with mine and I'm staring in to the galaxy.
"I was wondering if I could borrow Thea for an hour or two?" Samuel directs his question at Lady Sabrina but his eyes remain connected with mine.
"What time is it? Oh yes. It's nearly one-thirty. Why don't you take her somewhere to eat, my Lord? She must be starving." Lady Sabrina shoos me away from the counter, "Leave Nyla here. Just make sure she's back in about an hour or two. I'm closing early today because of the rain, and she needs to know how. Now have fun!"
