Jake's Point of View:

When I realized what I'd done, that I might be the reason that my little sister might die, I couldn't contain my wolf. He was angry and sad and protective all at the same time.

Wolves are pack oriented. You don't necessarily have to be a wolf to be part of the pact, but the fact that I could sense the Levaldi blood in Thea's veins from the moment we pulled up to our house on the day of her arrival, I already felt a sort of kinship to her.

Then she ends up being nothing but a quiet sweetheart, with amazing talents and a horrible past. The protection I felt for her only increased. Especially when I began to piece together her life.

Her mother is a witch, that much I could sense. Thea is also kin to Lady Sabrina, which I could sense before I found out that the old bat was Thea's grandmother.

Her mother treated her so harshly because the werewolf blood in her veins acted as an amplifier for her already powerful magic. Descendants of Marie Laveau are some of the most powerful witches to ever walk the earth, but it skips generations. Lady Sabrina had the power, and Thea's bitch of a mother didn't, which means Thea did. On top of that, her father is a werewolf, which means she was ten times more powerful than even Lady Sabrina.

Thea's mother hates her because Thea is everything she could never be. The bitch called her a 'monster' her entire life to make her believe that all the bad luck she'd suffered over the years was actually her daughters fault.

But if I know one thing about witches, it's that they follow the Wiccan Rede like it's their personal mantra.

Bide the Wiccan Law, ye must
In perfect love and perfect trust
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill
An' ye harm done, do as ye will.

What ye send forth comes back to thee,
So ever mind the Law of Three.
Follow this with mind and heart,
Merry ye meet and merry ye part.

My mother had drilled it in to us since we were children, that way if anything ever happened to the pack, we could go to Lady Sabrina, recite the Rede and she'd know who we were. Wolves don't tend to believe in magic, even though we're at the very center of it.

Thea's mother was so nasty that the universe got back at her in the cruelest of ways, and she blamed it on her daughter.

That's why I'm so protective over her. I nearly lost it when I heard her heart stop beating.

However, as me and my sister watch Thea giggle and blush while Sam feeds her a strawberry, I feel my worry for her decrease. Just looking at them makes me nauseous, but I can see it.

He loves her and she loves him, even if she doesn't know it yet.

Thea's Point of View:

Amp cried when she saw me out of the room and in the kitchen with my siblings and Sam the next morning.

"I'm so sorry we didn't tell you, darling!" She wails, "We just didn't want to load too much on to your plate! You were still getting over what happened with your mother and—"

"Amp." My voice is quiet (as always) but it catches her attention, "It's okay." I smile at her.

She wails again and forces my head in to her bosom. I can't breathe.
