The annoying ringtone of a doorbell sounded again, and my mum dug her hands back into her handbag.

She said, "Hey Marcus". It was my brother. I began to picture him, his long blonde hair just above his eyes, light blue eyes just like mine and his tall slim figure. I had blocked out the world whilst thinking about him, until my mum handed me her phone.

Marcus quickly screamed, "Heyy!", so loud I automatically turned the volume down. Marcus was three years older then me, but we were bestfriends. I screamed back, "Heyy idiot".

"Aw thanks munchkin sister, can I come and see you, dad will take me? Jacks got swimming training so he'll come tomorrow, but he sends his love."

Who's Jack I thought to my self? He can't of been that important if I couldn't of remembered him as quickly as I did Marcus. I put the phone away from my ear and asked if Marcus could come and see me. Mum nodded as if she hadn't even thought about it. I screamed down the line, "yes, come now please!". Marcus hung up and I waited.

After twenty minutes of waiting playing Temple Run with my mum a small blonde haired face popped around the curtain. A huge grin spread across my face, nearly reaching both of my ears. I wanted to hop out of bed and give him the biggest hug in the world, but instead he did it for me. Marcus bent over with his bum in mid air and gave me a big hug. I could smell his Lynx, he had put way to much on, but I liked it. Dad obviously couldn't be bothered to go shopping so Marcus's hair smelled of my Herbel Essences.

I asked him, "where's dad?", Marcus couldn't drive yet so dad must be here somewhere.

Marcus perched him self next to me and replied, "he's gone to the jewellers to get some stuff, I think." Dad only went there to get mum more pandora charms on special occasions.

I spent twenty-five minutes catching up on all the news about Marcus's mates and mine in fact. Marcus only knew about my friends from Facebook, what an idiot, he hadn't even asked them how they were for me, he had only stalked their Facebook walls. Marcus looked at his iPhone and saw he was late for his date with Becky. Becky was one of the nicest and prettiest girls I know and she was Marcus's girlfriend, we all had no complaints about her. He kissed me on the cheek and then gave another huge huge, he then did the same to mum and dashed off to the bus stop.

Mum and I went back to Temple Run, we're both addicted now, until dad walked in. In his hand he held two plastic bags with "John's Jewellers" written all over it. He handed over a bag to mum and one to me. He never bought me stuff from John's. He had always said it was 'too expensive for me.' I couldn't wait to open the plastic bag, so I did. Inside was a small little purple velvet covered box. I quickly opened it to discover a little wire bracelet. The wire had been woven into a word saying, "keep strong". I put it on my right hand wrist. My dad was the best.

Mum had received another Pandora charm, to add to her huge collection on her wrist. This time dad had bought her a little heart shaped one. Mum laughed and said "thanks, I love it." I then felt the need to do the same.

Dad gave us a hug, until Lindsey arrived again. She had re-done her hair put in the same boring ponytail as it was in before. Without saying a polite 'hello' she extremely quickly said, "doctor Peter, would like to see Kate now." Without asking if it was ok she wheeled me into another room where Peter was sitting. "Kate, Scarlett and Jake, I believe Kate's surgery went brilliantly and will soon be on the road to recovery." My parents faces lit up as if they were leprechauns and had found the pot of gold. In a overwhelmed voice my mum asked, "when will Kate be allowed home?".

Peter's face looked as if he was thinking hard until he said, "I would imagine tomorrow perhaps, however there will be routine check ups".

"That's fantastic, thanks so much for everything", dad said. Mum and dad wheeled me back to my area of the department.

They interrupted Marcus's date and told him my news.
