"bye mum" karla said, kissing her mums cheek. "have fun and stay safe"
"but not too much fun" his dad said quietly, mostly to himself.
"oh, i wont" she smiled, leaving.
"okay, karla, listen up. im going to jeffs house in ten minutes or so to watch the basketball game tonight. remember the two rules" he explained.
"yes, dont make a mess - if it happens, clean it up - and dont cause trouble"
"yes, good. im probably going to leave earlier though. make sure the door is locked and if you're going to invite someone, follow the rules and make it only one person"
"yes, i know" karla said, going upstairs.
she immediately grabbed her phone and texted troye.
karla: hey. do you wanna come over if your free?
troye: sure! text the address and ill be there in 10
she texted her address and waited until her dad had left to go to his friend, jeffs, house.
"have fun" karla said, closing the door and locking it.
she made popcorn, chips and poured coke into red solo cups.
she heard the doorbell ring and saw troye standing there. "hey"
"hey. come in" karla said.
"wow. you've got a pretty nice house. does anyone know its not blue?" he asked and karla laughed.
"my mom said she doesnt like that colour but this was a pretty decent house size and good price so we renovated it so it wasnt all old and blue and this is how it turned out" karla explained.
"wow. maybe i should do that to my house" troye said, mostly to himself.
"do you live with anyone?" karla asked.
"no. my parents bought me this old house and its all blue and everything. i mean, i like the colour but everything blue? i dont think so" they laughed.
"hey, is it okay if i invite another one of my friends over?" karla asked.
"yeah. i mean, this is your house. do whatever you want"
"thanks"
