She held it close
Afraid to lose it
Afraid it will slip though
Afraid of what will happen
Her life was in her hands
She sat on the bed forever
Afraid to let it drop
For it to shatter like glass
Afraid to let someone hold it
For she had the strength
She held her life
In her own hands
As if it were glass
