A Mythical Affair

Part 10

*Link's POV* As soon as Rhett and I walked into our office, I looked down at Sophia as she slept.

"She's really tired." I said as I rocked her gently and kissed her on the forehead

Rhett parked Sophia's stroller next to one of our desks and laughed.

Then, he held out his arms for me to hand Sophia to him.

I smiled as I watched Sophia cuddle up to Rhett and try to fall asleep.

"Sleep tight, Sophia." He whispered as Sophia fell asleep as he then put Sophia back in her stroller and walked to his desk to start up his laptop

I smiled at my sleeping newborn as I tucked her in.

I just couldn't believe everything Rhett and I had been through had been worth this much trouble.

Sophia was here.

Everyone loves her.

And now I had nothing to worry about...except for when she wakes up later.

*Rhett's POV* I was in the middle of researching for the next episode of GMM when Link and I heard something hit the window.

"THUMP!" we heard

"Did you hear that?" I asked, tapping Link with my pencil

"Yeah. It was pretty loud. Maybe a bird hit the window." Link said

I shrugged.

"I don't know, Link. That would have to be a pretty big bird." I replied

"What else could it be?" Link asked as he checked on Sophia as she began to cry

"A pterodactyl?" I asked

Link just stared at me as he sat down with Sophia in his arms.

Uh oh! That's the "You're an idiot!" face.

"What do you think it could be, Link?" I asked

"Honestly? I think it could be a drone." Link said as Sophia began to cry

I reached across my desk and tried to calm Sophia down as Link looked down at her and immediately began apologizing for scaring her

"I'm so sorry, Sophia! I didn't mean to scare you!" Link said as he reached into Sophia's stroller and took out her plush randler that Jen "borrowed" from the mythical mail museum to give as a baby shower gift and tried to calm her down with it

It seems to be working.

"Isn't that cute?" Link asked as he rocked Sophia as she stopped crying and stared at the toy

"It is." I said

Later that afternoon at home, I was sitting on the couch rocking Sophia and talking to her when Link walked in and sat down next to me.

"Hey sweetie!" Link said as he looked at Sophia and kissed her on the forehead

"Hey Link!" I said

"I wasn't talking to you." Link giggled

"Oh!" I replied as I then turned back to Sophia and said "My mistake. Daddy was talking to you. Sorry about that, Sophia."

Sophia just cooed in reply and continued to suck on her plush randler as I rocked her.

"How long have you been sitting here with her?" Link asked

"Ten minutes?" I replied unsure

"And Sophia's been quiet this whole time?" Link asked

"Yeah. Isn't that awesome?" I asked

"Yeah." Link replied with a smile

As we talked, Sophia looked at us.

Then, Link and I looked down at her.

"She really likes that toy." Link said

"Yeah.I think she likes it because it reminds her of us." I said

"You think so?" Link asked as he looked up at me while his finger was now in our daughter's tiny grip

"Of course I do, Link." I said as Sophia cooed

"I guess Sophia agrees as well." Link said with a laugh
