"Thank you Niall." I said to him as we climbed out of his Range Rover. It had been a hectic day in the ER, waiting for Hadley to get in to see a doctor. Once we were told there was a doctor ready they ran some X-rays. She'd broken her arm in two places. They fixed the bone and have her a neon pink cast; her choice of course.
"No problem Aimee," he sighed,"That scared the living daylights out of me. Not even gonna lie."
"Same here," I adjusted her on my hip. She was out cold from the pain medication the doctor had given her. I had a feeling those would come in handy,"It really means a lot to me. I'm sure it means a lot to Hadley." Considering she clung onto Niall the whole time we were waiting, when she got her X-rays, when they set her arm AND when the cast was put on, yeah. It meant a lot to her to.
"Well I'm glad I was there to help. Who knows how it would have been if I weren't," he chuckled,"do you want me to carry her up?" He asked.
"Um, sure..." I couldn't tell if Aria and Emily were still there, so I handed her over to Niall and we walked in the door.
They were still here.
"OH MY GO-" they both stopped screaming when they saw Hadley asleep. In Niall's arms. I gave them the 'NOT NOW' look and we made our way up to my room.
"Just set her on the bed, I'll take care of her pajama's." I told him, walking over to the dresser.
"C-can I help?" He almost hesitantly asked.
"Um, I-I guess?" I pulled out her night gown and walked over to our mattress. I took off her shirt and threw it into the laundry basket. Next her boots and then her leggings. Niall looked nervous, probably because he'd never changed a child before.
"Do you wanna put it on her?" I asked.
"Y-yeah I guess I should do that right?" I chuckled and moved out of the way, taking her leggings to the laundry basket and her boots back to our closet. I turned around and watched him gently place her in her night gown. He smiled when she flinched and set her down carefully. He placed a kiss on her forehead as a way of saying goodnight.
"I hope that wasn't weird for you, ya know. Because I'm a guy you barely know and I just saw your daughter naked. But I'm not like that, I swear." He nervously spit out. I hushed him and told him it was no big deal.
"M-mummy? Niall?" We heard Hadley faintly say from the bed.
"Hey there tough one! How ya feelin'?" Niall asked her and knelt down on the side of the bed. All her response was: a hug. She clung to his neck and wouldn't let go. He looked at me and hesitantly hugged her back when I nodded my head yes.
"Don't go Niall. Stay please." She said.
"Oh, sweetheart, I don't know if I can."
"Mummy can he stay? Please?" She let go of him long enough to look at me and put on her puppy dog face.
"Well, I mean," I started,"Where is he gonna sleep? Auntie Emily and Auntie Aria are here,"
"Can he sleep on the couch mummy? Please?" She pulled out the cheesiest smile I'd ever seen in the world.
I looked at him and he had a cheesy smile on his face, mimicking Hadley's. I laughed and gave in.
"Fine, but I'll ask Aria and Emily to go home. They've been here for too long anyway," I laughed some more,"Niall you can come down and meet them if you want..." He looked at me and nodded.
"Good night Hadley. I'll see you in the morning, ok?" She gave him one last squeeze and laid down so he could tuck her in. She seemed to love having the attention of a male. Is this happening?
We walked back downstairs to the lounge and we saw Emily and Aria sitting on the sofa whispering fiercely.
"They're totally gonna sleep togeth- oh hey guys! How's it goin?" Aria said trying to slither away from what we both know we heard. I looked down at the floor and pulled my bangs behind my ear. I looked at Niall and he was blushing and running his hand through his hair. Wow. Hot.
"Uh, it's going good...Can I talk to you guys in the kitchen. Like. Now?" I said with a look on my face that was apparently funny,"Niall, go ahead and make yourself at home. I'll be right back,"
"SPILL THE BEANS AIMEE!" Emily whisper-yelled.
"Not tonight, you guys are going home!" I whisper-yelled back.
"What?! Why?!" Aria said.
"Because Niall is staying the night-ON THE SOFA-and there's no space in my room. You can come back tomorrow when he leaves and I can tell you then ok? Just please, let this happen."
"Aimee, should this happen?" Emily asked me. Ok mom. *sarcasm*
"Yes, it should. Hadley woke up and wants him to stay. Now get out of my house you freaks!" I told them. They sighed and grabbed their purses and headed out the door. I waved them off as Aria pulled out of the car park with Emily. I walked back inside and sat next to Niall on the sofa.
I sighed a little too loud and he started laughing.
"What? Why are you laughing?" I asked, scared for my life.
"You're just funny. You'd kick your friends out to let a guy you BARELY know stay at your house," he stopped to chuckle some more,"I wonder...why is that?"
"Because Hadley wants you to stay." I said a little too quickly. Shoot.
"It's just Hadley that wants me to stay?" He asked and chuckled some more. I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks and burn through them.
"Fine. I wanted you to stay too." I said, looking away. I crossed my arms against my chest and sighed.
"Well, I wanted to stay, so it's a good thing we all agreed, now isn't it?" He said. I looked at him and placed my hands back on my lap. He seemed closer to my face than he was before.
"Well... Uh... H-Hadley's upstairs. I uh... I should probably go check on h-"
I was silenced by a passionate kiss.
