Prologue:

Lea Ramos

"Mom, are you sure you want to do this for me?" I asked as I settled the last box into the moving truck.

"Lea, there's no turning back now, I mean," she sighed as she gave me a comforting smile, "I want you to be happy, and if having an acting career is what you really want-"

"But, Mom, don't you think you're going a little too far?" I interjected.

It did seem weird how happily took it so quickly for her to accept how much I wanted to be an actress as a career. But this? This is starting to go a little too far for our pace.

"I just said this two months ago and now we're moving to California? Mom, we could've at least saved up a bit for this." I added.

"Oh, and I did! During the process of moving." She then laid a hand on my shoulder, "It did help when you barely go out with your friends or anything."

That struck it. I knew why we were moving now. It was all to start over and begin fresh again. Not that I can really complain about it. Living as an antisocial girl who once got bullied in her life wasn't exactly worth the ideal of living. Therefore, if moving from the hearts of Washington D.C. meant to start anew, this would actually be worth taking.

"Okay." I just responded to Mom, and then continued loading the packed boxes into the huge truck.

After a long five hour flight, not even to mention the three hour delay, my eyes felt hazy. Everything became a little blurry from the countless hours of sleep due to the annoying little kid in the backseat.

If he likes to kick so much, how about I play a game of kickball with him. Except to his face.

Mom didn't have much sleep either. She only kept yawning almost every five minutes. I looked around and see myself at the food court area of the airport. Mom and I decided that, since it is around 3 in the morning, we could go grab a bite from McDonalds.

I kind of hesitated, looking at the number of food choices. They all screamed "fat" or "greasy" to me, which made my stomach drop. I really didn't have the time to gain pounds. But then again, who does?

"Lea," Mom nudged me, "What do you want?"

I looked at the cashier and just responded, "I'll have a filet-o-fish, just the sandwich."

The man nodded and rung it up in the register. After all the paying, eating, and walking around the large airport, Mom and I finally rented a car to drive to a hotel.

"Tomorrow morning, we'll start unpacking, and then we can visit your aunt," Mom said, "Remember Aunt Melissa?"

"The one who shrieked when she thought she saw Obama walking out of the White House during a visit?" I asked. Yep, that's the D.C. life for you. Mom nodded and chuckled to herself. It was a pretty intense, yet funny moment.

"Got it." I responded and with that, Mom drove to a hotel nearest to LA.

This is gonna be a new adventure for me. Even this time I'm craving for it.
