now,, on with the shoooww. or well, i mean, story
harry propped up his elbows on the counter and let out a deep sigh. business had been awfully slow that day, about only two or three people had stopped by but that was it. he pulled out his phone to check his messages, hoping to see any from louis, but of course there were none. he frowned and decided not to be too hurt, it's not like the boy had actually said he'd text him. before he left, he gave louis his number, wanting him to have it just in case anything else happened. he had sort of wished he had texted him by now but louis probably didn't even trust harry yet.
the sound of the bell from the front door snapped him out of his train of thought, immediately smiling when he saw the woman walk through the doors.
"barbara!" he said loudly while grinning. she smiled back at him fondly, slowly shaking her head.
"no need to yell harry i'm right here in front of you, i'll need new hearing aids if you keep that up." she chuckled lightly.
the boy knew she was joking, but he couldn't help but to blush a bit in embarrassment. "sorry." he said sheepishly.
she laughed as she walked into the back room, harry trailing behind her. tiredly, she sat on the stool, and gave him a weak smile. "so did everything go alright while you were alone?" she questioned.
he shrugged. "yeah, but there weren't really a lot of people in today."
she nodded in understanding. he bit his nails- horrible habit- as he waited for her to say something. he shifted under her stare, starting to get uncomfortable.
"what?" he mumbled.
"what's wrong?" she said with a frown.
his breath hitched. "what do you mean?"
"harry i've known you for the past three years i think i can tell if something's wrong with you by now." she gave him a look.
he bit his lip and sighed deeply. "well," he said, puling out a chair to sit in front of her. "see, there's this boy.." he said hesitantly. he had already come out to her two years ago, so he wasn't too worried of her judging him. "let's just say he's kind of troubed, i guess. well, not so much as troubled, he's just in a bad place right now. and," he groaned, getting frustrated. "i want to help him! but he won't even help himself. and well, i kind of like him too, but that's just another problem."
