The sun was slowly coming down from the high point in the sky as the car filled with Alexander Armstrong and his daughter Kiry, Alphonse Elric, and Darius Fulton. They were on the main road going straight from the Alchemist research institute and All were smiling. Alexander Armstrong was behind the wheel, hunched a little due to his height. Alphonse was in the passengers side, watching outside the window as the city passed them by . Kiry and Darius were both in the back seat. Both of them were looking out the windows awkwardly. This silence lasted for about ten minutes until Alphonse finally broke it.

"So, Darius. Where did you learn Alchemy?" Darius looked away from the window and then at Alphonse

"Huh, oh. My mom had a ton of books on Alchemy and she also knew some Alchemy as well. She was the only Alchemist that could really be found in Reole. But.... I do remember when I was really young. This person, I barely remember them. They left a book with my mom and told me these words, though I barely remember them, they said they were the basis of Alchemy. They said 'the one is all, the all is one. Without the one there is no all, and without the all there is no one."

Alphonse's eyes went a little wide "Darius, Are you sure you don't remember who told you that?" Alphonse's smile was gone but Darius shook his head

"Nope, when I asked my mom about them, she doesn't say anything. She pretends like i'm crazy" Alphonse sighed as he turned back around to face the front of the car "Why do you ask?"

"No reason" Alphonse looked out the window as he set his head on his hand and they went back to silence. Soon though the silence ended as Alexander smiled

"Well, looks like we're here" Darius leaned forward as he saw the biggest house he had ever seen and he smiled as Alexander pulled the car up to the front door. A single man with what looked like a grey mustache. he was wearing a black suit with a black hat looking like a cabbies hat

"Good morning Mr. Armstrong. I see you have brought guests, Shall I prepare a lunch for all four of you?" All of them started to get out and Alexander gave a smile to the man

"That would be nice Micheal, If you will please bring them to the back courtyard. I have somethings I wish to discuss with them and we will be awhile I'm guessing so take your take your time." Micheal smiled as he went to inside and headed off to the kitchen. Darius looked curious at this and then Alexander turned to Darius, his daughter, and Alphonse "Come, let us go to the backyard, it's much more spacious there then inside." He began to walk but then stopped, "Actually, Kiry, Why don't you give Darius a tour of the house. I must talk with Alphonse in private first, some important matters." Alexander waved for Alphonse to follow him and Alphonse did, soon disappearing  into the depths of the house, leaving Darius and Kiry alone.

"Soooo should we just stand out here or?" Darius said a little awkwardly as he stretched and Kiry gave a sigh and started walking into the house

"Cmon, I'll show you around" she gave a small smile as she looked back at him as she stopped. "or are you just gonna stay out there until my dad finds you?"  Darius gave a chuckle as he ran after her and walked beside her.

After about half an hour they soon ended up in a library. It was rather large, with a huge Arching ceiling and bookcases that seemed to be thirty feet high. The entire library was set up like a hallway and ended with a circular area. The bookcases went around the edge and there were also Gigantic windows between every bookcase in the circular part.

"And this room right here, as you can see is the Armstrong Library. All these books were brought from all over central, Xing, and Creta. Most of them are history books or cook books. But we also have a lot of Alchemy books here as well. Also there are some books scattered here and there that were authored by my family. My dad wrote one recently, it was his telling of the history between the beginning of the Ishvalan war and the final battle with the Homunculus." She sighed as she walked towards the center of the room.

In the center of the room was a single statue. It was a bronze statue to be precise. The statue itself was of a female angel, her left arm outstretched and relaxed, palm facing down, in the other hand she seemed to be holding a bouquet of flowers, and in her left arm, she carried a young girl. The girls eyes were closed but she and the woman had a smile on her face. The woman wore what looked like a flowing robe what was whipping in the breeze. Both had almost identical heads of hair. Underneath the Woman's feet were what looked roiling waves.

Darius looked up at stature curiously. He stood next to Kiry as she looked at the statue solemnly. Darius couldn't quite put a finger on it, but the woman looked oddly familiar. He thought about it for a minute but then it struck him. He looked at Kiry

"Hey Kiry,"

"Let's go.... we should probably meet with my dad.... He and Alphonse are probably done talking and are probably wondering where we are." She started to turn but stopped as Darius spoke again.

"Is the woman in this statue... your mom?" At this Kiry suddenly shot forward towards the door running quickly. Darius was surprised and realized he had pushed some buttons he shouldn't have. And so, he started to run after her, or at least tried to. He suddenly found a big hand holding his shoulder. He followed the hand and saw that it was attached to Alexander.  "Mr. Armstrong! I didn't mean to!" Alexander gave a sigh as he looked down

"It's ok Darius.... I understand your curiosity." He looked up at the statue with a small smile. "She usually goes to the small garden in the back area. Just follow the small tree line." Darius nodded "She finds it hard to talk about.... more personal stuff and she has had a hard time, through most of her life making friends. But do not be fooled by her tough exterior, Shes a kind young woman. You just have to get to know her." He smiled as he let Darius go and sighed once more as He saw Darius run out of the room. He then looked back at the statue and frowned as a single tear streamed down his cheek.
