AND THEN THERE WAS TWO

"Hey, Summer" he says shining that bright smile of his.

"Hey" I reply back with a wave.

"Hi, Brad" Lily says blushing a little, while playing with her hair. How does she know him? Wait, does she like him!?
"What are you doing here?" Tom is now tapping his bare foot on the hot sand while his arms are crossed over his chest, and may I add, not so happily.

"What, no hello, or how are you?" Brad stands smiling, back straight, with the sun bouncing off his abs making them glow like stars in the night sky. " Mind if I play a game?" Brad asks.
I am about to answer him when Tom cuts me off, " It's our last game" Now, if stares could kill, these two would long be gone. Now I expected this behavior from Brad, but Tom, why was he acting so different all of a sudden? What happened between them? I'm going to make it my mission to find out.

"Then you wouldn't mind if I watched?" Brad asks, turning his body away from Tom and now facing me, bringing out those puppy eyes of his. Let me tell you this, no one could say no to his puppy dog face.

"Come on Summer" Lilly tries getting me to say yes.
"Yeah, sure, why not" I respond back. I catch Brad shooting Tom a Smirk real quick. Really.

We go back to our teams, everything back to normal.
"Come on girls let's show em boys what we have to offer" Lilly yells.

" Ok, but don't go crying when WE are the ones who win" Austin says earning a high five from Jack and earning laughter from Tom. " Don't go crying to your moms when we are the ones who prove you wrong" Maria says earning a few you go girls from the girls.
" isn't she just the cutest when she gets competitive" Jack coos, making Maria blush and telling him to shut up while she playfully punches him.

"They're dating by the way" Rose whispers in my ear. Makes sense.

" Enough of this mushy gushy stuff, let's start the game. Summer you're up" Tom throws the ball at me sending me a warm smile that just melts me on the inside.

" Get em tiger" whispers Brad, which made me blush bright red.

" Any day now would be great" Keke points to her wrist, tapping her imaginary watch, also smiling showing she is kidding.

Here goes nothing, I breathe in, breathe out and let the ball control my body. The ball gets hit really hard and the whole cheers thinking the boys won't be able to get the ball. The girls came running towards me, screaming and cheering while congratulating me. We were interrupted by a big thud and loud cheering coming from the boys side. It only took me a second to process what just happened, Jack had dived for the ball and now the ball was hurdling towards us and I did the unthinkable. I ran as fast as my feet could take me, everything going in slow motion as I dive for the ball, closing my eyes and ready for impact. I fought a brave war. After what seems like an hour, but really a second, I hear cheering again and Tom running towards me looking panicked.

"Summer are you ok?" I laugh nodding my head. Everyone comes laughing and cheering and congratulating me this time for real.

" I knew you could do it" Brad says flashing that smile of his again. " Sadly I have to go, it's something urgent, don't forget I'll be showing you around soon" Brad winks before running off looking worried. Hmmm?
" Bye Brad" I hear Lily scream and wave franticly.

I feel a light tap on my shoulder, I look to see it's Tom, and only Tom. Everyone else must've already left when I zoned out. The moment was perfect, like those cheesy fan fictions people write. The sun was setting, the seagulls flying, two birds at a time, and there was no noise, other then the calming sound of the waves crashing on to the sand beach.
" You ready?" Tom whispers calmly.
I nod my head, still staring into those Icy blue eyes of his. He reaches down and grabs my hand slowly still keeping eye contact.
" let's go" he whispers.

Sorry for not updating in over a year. I have been so busy lately! It's crazy. I'll try to update more and stay tuned for the next chapter.
