I tap my fingers impatiently, once more I eyed the old victorian clock. Fifteen more minutes till five, and Lennon will arrive. It is my last commitment for tonight, and I cannot wait to finish it so I can finally sleep all day.

But then I realize that tapping my foot and fingers isn't going to quicken the time. So I close my eyes and lean my back to my throne, and shifted to a more comfortable position.

Through the absence of my sight, my hearing sense will boost up. At first all I hear are the rustling of the trees and the squawks of crows but I look further more into the village I rule over.

The shutting of the windows, the gliding of the curtains, and the goodnights parents whisper to their children. The usual things I hear, as the sun rises.

"Everything is in peace." I breathe out in relief.

I'm looking for voices again, but this time further down. Past my kingdom, past the forest. Down to the town just at the feet of the mountain.

"Don't climb the mountain. It will kill you." I heard an old man,

"We will be alright, thank you for letting us sleep here in your home." Another voice said,

"I'm eight-seven years old, I lived in this province all my life. All the hikers who ventured the mountain never came back."

"We will take the risk, we aim to be the first one to reach the top of the unclimbable Bloodstone."

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

I grin as I overhear their conversation. Another group of humans want to climb this mountain, again. Not that I'm complaining.

Bloodstone is my home, my kingdom. A safe haven for me and the vampires I subjugate. To humans however, Bloodstone is just a tall mountain, a very steep and dangerous one.

My great, great, great grandmother personally picked this mountain as the base of our kingdom. With deadly animals lurking in the shadows, and deep pits and cliffs. The mountain will kill you, if my men don't.

I stopped my eavesdropping to the humans, as soon as I heard incoming footsteps. The doors opened and my butler, Lennon came in.

"Your Highness." He bent down his knee and bowed his head.

"Arise."

"There are thirty-two newly turned vampire, Your Highness." He started. My expression changed from amused to irritated. The current population of my people is one thousand eight hundred sixty seven. Honestly I have the smallest kingdom and army than the other royal families.
