As soon as I was able to understand, speak and write, the very first thing Uncle ever taught me was the eight different types of love. Eros, Philia, Storge, Ludus, Mania, Pragma, Philautia, and Agape.
It was a rather short lecture, he told me the first seven was worthless, that it served no purpose. Except for Agape, the selfless love. He told me to only love my kingdom, to care more about my people's needs than of my own. He told me I didn't need to find an abundance of friends because I already have Philip, told me I didn't need a family, and I didn't need a lover.
'You don't need love, so you just have to keep giving it. This is the only way to find peace.'
I got his point, not feeling the other seven types of love won't make me feel anger, won't feel sadness and pain, but what Uncle didn't tell me was I would feel empty. But I won't say it didn't work because it did work, the emptiness I felt was the root of peace. Just like in meditations, first you empty your mind, clear all thoughts. It will result to serenity and tranquility, which is equivalent of the word peace. As for me I had to put aside the thoughts of love, to attain that peace.
"Something is wrong." I told Philip as I went down the stairs.
"Good morning. How was your sleep?" He gave no heed to my words as he inclined his body to pay me respect.
"Can't you sense it Philip?"
"I have done the rounds in your stead. All is well with the kingdom. So be at ease." He reassured me, but it didn't work. I woke up with my paranoia already raging and it was not a good thing. The air too felt different, it was gusting and it was just the middle of summer. It might be a storm or something else or maybe someone. I just can't put my finger on it.
"No, this is different, It feels like a disaster is coming." I jumped in fright when two loud knocks came from the front door.
"Are we expecting any guests tonight?" I asked the commander,
"No we are not Queen Elyza." He responded. To my bafflement, Philip walked towards the door, and held the knob to open it.
"No Philip don't open the door!" But I was already late at stopping him, his head was already peeking out.
"I'm here to deliver the blood supply for the Queen." I became untroubled when I heard a voice of a boy who was just bringing my food.
Philip now widely opened the door and started vexing at the poor boy, "Young man, you are suppose to deliver this at the back, on the cellar! Not at the front door!"
"S-Sorry Sir, it's my first day on the job." The courier reasoned out,
"Then scram and get on with it already!" As he ended antagonizing the courier, he then started yelling at the two guards posted at the front door.
Without closing te door, Philip embraced me and said "See, there's nothing to wo--"
"Nice castle!" Both of us were caught off guard when we heard a fruity voice of a woman coming from the outside.
