So I have this theory that all adjectives are indefinite. They exist only in relation to other adjectives; you can't say something is cold without knowing that it isn't hot and vice versa. This isn't only applicable to adjectives, though.
It's hard to know true joy without pain. To take a stab at John Green, I'll admit that no, the mere existence of broccoli doesn't affect the taste of chocolate, but eating a huge plate of leafy greens may just enhance one's appreciation for a king-sized Hershey bar shortly after.
