Dan POV:
Today is the day of my best friend, Chris's pool party.
He decided to invite almost EVERYONE IN OUR GRADE and being the antisocial moth I am, I was hesitant but then he said there'd be food... Lots of food.
As I sat on the side of the pool staring at my feet in the water I glanced up for a second and noticed a pale slender boy with black hair and dazzling blue eyes. My jaw dropped but I quickly caught myself and stared back at my feet. I glanced up again and noticed him and a girl started walking towards the chairs next to where I was. I quickly slid into the water and kept my eyes above the water so I could still see him but he couldn't see me.
I watched as he took his towel off his shoulder and put in on the lawn chair by the garden, the most unseeable spot from the deck. And guess where my stuff was!

Fuck my life honestly this means I have to encounter him and grrrrr what do I do?
I swam towards the ladder on the side that had the chair and climbed out. I awkwardly waddled my way to my chair and tried to avoid contact with him but as soon as I reached my chair to get my towel I heard a deep voice.
"Hi!" I looked up to see the boy sat leaned back in the lawn chair with his arm around the girl. Probably his girlfriend I mean she's gorgeous and he's cute so I'm sure they're dating.
I nodded and tried to proceed to get my towel when I saw him standing in front of me. "I'm Phil!" He said smiling brightly at me. The sun was behind him but his smiley surely shines brighter.
I stood up and put the towel around my shoulders. He stuck out his hand for me to shake it.
"I'm Dan" I said smiling awkwardly shaking his hand. Damn are his hands soft.
"Nice to meet you Dan! Would you like to sit with me?" He said gesturing to the chairs. I hesitatingly said and sat down in my chair. I glanced over at the girl and she looked slightly pissed but still seemed occupied by the other people, I followed her gaze and saw she was staring at the group of guys who were diving into the pool. Typical.
"So Dan how do you know Chris?" Phil asked as he put sunblock on. "Well he's my best friend, we go to school together as well.... How about you?" I replied looking at him curiously. "Long story short he's my house sitter" Phil said chuckling. I nodded my head and stared at my hands awkwardly.
"I like your Free! Towel by the way, it's cool," Phil said smiling and nodding towards the towel around my neck. "Wait you watch Free! ?! ITS MY FAVE" I said excitedly.
Over the next 10 minutes be talked about nerdy stuff. I noticed that the girl was angry now as she huffed everytime Phil would mention tumblr.
He's the most adorable human being like howwww?! He thinks of the cutest and most original things! He even told me about how he bleached his hair blonde before high school and it's bright orange. Wow what a cute nerdy guy.
"TIME TO PLAY TRUTH OR DAREEEE" Chris shouted loudly so everyone in the world could hear. I reached for my phone and I noticed Phil stood up. "Are you playing?" I said looking up at him with furrowed eyebrows. "Well yeah! Are you?" He said as he put on his flip flops. "I don't know... Should I?" I said hesitatingly sitting up. "Yeah you totally should," he said smiling brightly for the millionth, cute, time, "It'll be fun!" He said pulling me up to my feet.
I chuckled and slipped on my black flip flops. The things I'm doing for this guy and I just met him!
We journeyed over to Chris's preformed circle of people who obviously we're too bored to function. I cautiously began to sit down next to Phil when he grabbed my arm and pulled down which caused me to almost fall on him but he just put his arm around my shoulder and left it there. Cheeky little shit... Did he really plan that?! I glanced over at Phil and I saw a tiny proud smile on his faces... What a dork.
